This was my 1st drone. I wanted a cheap one to learn on in case I crashed it or lost it. I lost it. The drone worked in all aspects and was easy to get started. I read the instructions, and flew it in my office to test it. It took just a few minutes to put the blades on and get the battery in. I took it outside and flew it over my building in a business district. I noticed right away the wind is a concern even if you don't feel it. The controls worked and the drone was responsive. It connected to my android (settings, wifi, give it a minute) then start the app and shoot videos. I took it to my acre of jungle that I'm getting ready to build a cabin on (this was the main purpose for getting a drone, to fly over the land and study the video). The first 2 times was good, but the 3rd time it must have got caught in the wind and drifted south. Because of the heavily wooded area, there was little chance of recovery. It's very light and while I felt no wind at ground level, there was some over the trees. So find a big field to fly it, not in the jungle. It is very light and you will lose it. I've got 4 extra batteries. Maybe I'll buy another for the grand kids. A full battery will get you about 5 minutes flying. Since the camera is fixed, you're limited to what you can do. All said, it's a good learning experience and a fun toy, but not for the serious. It's worth the price, but keep it close to base.

I gave this quad 5 stars because of the durability and how easy it is to work on/replace parts. Parts are also extremely cheap. That being said let me explain that I didn't purchase this drone from Amazon, I actually saw it as someone was throwing it away in the apartment complex that I work at. He said that the "motors burned out" I see a lot of complaints about "burned out motors" and it makes me laugh because 1: the motors were not burned out, and 2: replacement motors are as cheap as $1.39 right here on Amazon.I charged the battery and then turned it on to see what was wrong with it and quickly realized that two of the blades weren't spinning with the others, so I took a closer look, removed one small screw and instantly saw that the gear from the motor was no longer aligned with the gear for the blade (picture 3) easily fixed by pressing down on the blade until the gears realigned. After doing this to both of the "broken" blades the quad took off effortlessly. Back in business! I think it's also important to say this is the first drone I have ever flown!I have wanted one for some time so I was very happy to find one that someone was throwing out. This quad is very easy to fly (after a few minutes of getting used to it) and to my surprise I could control it outside during snow and medium winds. The camera was better than expected and there is no delay whatsoever on the wifi transmission to my phone which is super important for flying when you can't see the drone. (Sometimes it takes a while for my phone to connect to the wifi of the camera though)It takes about two minutes and 16 small screws to take this drone apart and expose the circuit board and wires. I removed the two red LEDs and two green ones (picture 1) and replaced them with one single white spotlight in the front (picture 2) I did this by cutting the wires of the existing lights and attaching those to the white led, then I drilled an led sized hole in the frame and inserted the new light. Done! It was fun and easy to tinker with this and I plan to do more. Finally, I have crashed this quad into the snow, down several flights of stairs, into my car, my cat, trees, mailboxes, you name it I've crashed into it several times and haven't even had to replace a blade yet. I am now ordering bigger batteries for this quad and going to get extra blades and motors for it because they are so cheap and I never want to be done flying this quad!Take it from someone who pulled this quad out of the trash. I did not spend a dime and therefore have no reason to lie or bend the truth. This copter is fun and for the price it is outstanding

This little thing is so much FUN!! Easy to control in Low mode. For high mode, make sure you have plenty of room because this thing goes! Easy to pair with smart phone with the right app (get the Syma DRONE FPV+), not the greatest video but still good enough for almost any general purpose video. I have banged this thing into just about everything inside and outside of my house! It even got away from me in a gust of wind that blew it four or five streets away from me! It was a dot in the sky and I could still control it, not very well tho as a novice, but this thing has awesome range!! If I was a better pilot with it, I may have been able to get it back to my location, but another gust and it was gone.. I turned off the control power and grabbed my car keys. I was thinking, as impossible as it sounds, that I would drive around in the general direction it was last spotted and try to pick up the wifi signal to locate it. Well I did find it in the front yard of a home about 6 blocks away.. sitting in the grass, right side up and ready to fly! THIS THING IS TOUGH!!! After banging into everything at my house, it had just fallen from about 50 ft and worked like it was fresh out of the box! Nothing broken, I simply has to bent the soft plastic prop guards back out of the way of the props and I was ready to fly again! Indoors..Observations: Headless mode is ESSENTIAL for novice like myself..It got away from me because I was not sure how to activate it. However.. I noticed that if you spin it a lot or it gets banged into something resulting in a flip, the quad gets confused and readjusts itself in weird orientations.. Like the side between the red and green light might be front. I frequently have to land it, turn it off and pair with it again.. a pain in the rear if you are running video as well because you have to pair the phone also. Sometimes the control can correct the headless glitch with the procedures to reorient it..but not always. The quad loses quite a bit of battery power before the lights begin to flash. It's ok for light wind.. maybe 8 and below.. but near impossible in anything over 10 MPH. Don't try the flip indoors unless you have a vaulted ceiling.. 8ft is NOT ENOUGH... the quad goes up about a foot to perform its flip and then looses a bit of altitude during the flip and a little more to return to hovering. Doing this inside it will hit the ceiling, the floor or both.Tips:The quad comes with a 500mha battery... grab a pack of 1200mha batteries! They greatly increase the flying time, are cheap, and actually required NO modification to the battery compartment. They snugly slide in and out like a glove with no problems.when you notice that you have to go to full throttle to maintain altitude, the batteries are pretty low and the flashing lights indicator for low batteries are not far away. In this case you may want to consider bringing it close for battery swap. You can increase flight time, if you're not recording, by disconnecting the camera as it draws valuable power. You can also save a little (minuscule) weight by removing the camera altogether when not needed. As a novice, I found it better to remove the camera to have longer practice time flying. When I got comfortable with it, I added the camera back to the quad to start filming some flights.Syma has several apps for different drones and not all of them work with this one. The one that does work is the - DRONE FPV+I purchased a pack of multi colored replacement parts. It has prop guards, props and legs but with the way this little thing has held up so far, I doubt I will ever need to use them but they are good to have, just in case, and they're pretty cheaply priced.I LOVE THIS DRONE and I cant wait to get a bigger one!

My 12-yr old son bought this drone the first part of Nov with an Amazon gift card and I gotta say, this thing is awesome and here's why. On it's maiden voyage first weekend in Nov, he lifted it, the wind caught it and it went across the street and got stuck in a tree. Had to be 70-75' in the air so there was no way we were getting it. After nearly 4 mos of being stuck in a tree in NE OH (which means cold, rain, snow, sleet & wind), it fell out of the tree ...... AND IT STILL WORKS! I thought for sure it was gonna be shot but no, he cleaned it up, charged the battery and it runs like a champ ... camera too! Go figure ... 5 stars just cause it survived 4 mos of a NE OH winter ...

Great Beginner Drone! Got each of my kids one of these for Christmas and they immediately took to them. Great flying indoors and out and they loved the FPV capabilities. Not as fast as what you see on DRL or anything like that, but for under $100.00 what do you expect? The kids flew them around the house, up the stairs, and in the back yard with video captures.Durable, easy to fly and a great beginner drone

I have had a blast with this drone. In the several months that I have had it I have had nothing but good times with it. The camera is fine for getting some nice aerieal views and is better than expected. It is still "web cam" quality but it works as expected. The drone is quick and nimble. I've learned a lot about flying a drone because of this. I feel like having this drone would still be nice even after I upgrade to a more expensive one just because it can zip around so easily. As far as durability it has stood up to a lot. I've crashed this drone full speed into brick walls as well as gotten it out of trees with basketballs. It took several months of hard crashes and abuse before one of the motors finally gave out. That being said though, I still feel like I have gotten a good value from it.

I bought this Syma X5SW for my son's 11th bday. It certainly was a hit and the controls were easy. The camera was clear and took good pictures ans videos. Now the bad part. This drone does not come with a Return Home function. After about 5 flys the blades were spinning mid flight and it kept going higher and higher. We tried to control it back and even turned off the controller hoping it would lose connection and stop flying. It didnt stop. We chased it until we couldnt see it anymore. Have looked for it a few days now and was not able to find it.UPDATE* The company has contacted and informed me it could have been radio interference. Cheerwing is making up for the faulty drone. Great customer service!

I absolutely love this thing! It handles really well, just lacking in stability due to it's extremely low weight, but is manageable. It gets pushed around a lot in even mild winds, but you can control it easily with a little practice. This is my first quadcopter and it's incredibly easy to learn how to fly. If you've ever played a console game using a controller with two joysticks, you'll learn fast. Only downside is waiting ~90 minutes between flights, so buy extra batteries with your drone so you don't have to suffer like I am! I just want to fly this thing all damn day; it's the most fun I've ever had with any RC toy. It's a lot of fun to toss in the air and kick up the throttle and watch it correct itself.Granted I've yet to crash into anything with any real force, this thing takes crashes very well. The bumpers help protect the blades very nicely. I got this thing stuck in a tree in my backyard this morning and took hours to get it out, but it worked just fine after I recharged the battery. The camera quality isn't bad for the price and it's a ton of fun to watch the videos of your neighborhood from 100+ feet in the air (and I've got ocean view, which is a nice bonus), as long as it doesn't start freezing the video feed more frequently within 10 uses like mine did. At first, the video would stutter at times, but only occasionally and remained smooth for the most part. Now it does it very frequently and for seconds at a time. But that's only if yours ends up like mine, which from the videos of this model that I've seen, I doubt you will have the same (bad) luck as me. Do not use the FPV alone to fly the drone! It lags, even at peak quality, and can lead to crashes, so only use it lightly for orienting the camera for pictures and video. Use line-of-sight for regular flight.Other than the camera, this is an amazing drone. Replacement parts are cheap for a really nice sized part replacement kit, so I'm going to buy one of those soon just in case anything does happen. Will probably be buying another one for my wife in the likely case she enjoys mine.I called Amazon to ask about the camera issue, not even asking for a replacement or refund or anything, and the rep just gave me a refund for the whole quadcopter. So despite the camera, that's why I'm giving this thing 5 stars instead of 4, and why I will likely be buying another one of these quadcopters or something different.

The Syma was purchased for my son's birthday, who is 11. I have to say assembly right out of the box was super easy for him. Once we downloaded the app to his iPhone he was ready to go. Picture quality for such a small camera was great as well. Can't wait til the wind settles so he can give it a try outside.

The Syma X5SW's body feels cheap, but is probably to reduce the weight of the drone. I had to put together the legs, blade guards, and camera myself, but with the included screwdriver, too easy. The instructions were horrible, but that in itself did not affect the quality of the drone. The camera's quality was decent (See attached). The distance so far for the drone appears to be about 50 feet, but I have not had much space to try further. The battery life depends on whether or not the camera it used. With the camera, close to eight minutes, but without the camera, I usually get around 15 minutes of air time. It was very easy to pair the drone's camera to my Android phone. I used it to and let my kids try to shoot it with Nerf guns. It takes a beating but flies well afterwards.I had only managed to operate this drone for 24 hours before I got it stuck on top of a 40 foot tree. Seven days, three severe storms, and temperatures ranging from 90F to 50F later, it was found on the ground (a forty foot drop). Without any hope or expectations, I still allowed it to dry out then inserted a battery. It came to life. The body itself suffered some damage which I easily fixed, but the motors, electronics, camera, and Wi-Fi still worked. And it worked as if nothing had happened. I am not saying this will happen to every drone which undergoes this experience, but mine did.PROS: Good quality for the price; great starter drone for beginners; resilient; easy to pair to phone; fairly easy to control.CONS: Video quality/image quality not great; batteries drain too quick; instructions are poor.If you are looking for a drone to film HD videos or for advanced users, look somewhere else. If you are a beginner or want a drone for practice, this is it. This may be one of the cheapest on the market, but every kid and beginner adults will love it. I would and have recommended this drone to others.

Updated: replacing the motor pinion gear that sheared off fixed the flight failure and was back in the air. As a first quad for fine-control flight there is very little to not recommend it. It's responsive and powerful enough to require a fine touch on the controls when practicing indoors, and durable enough to survive the inevitable bumps (the pinion gear was probably a casting fault). Add a starThe negative: the camera feature does not work with my phone. Moto X Pure running Android 7.0; the adhoc wifi network establishes like its supposed to but the app nevers get an image stream from the camera. Identical behavior with a replacement camera that was helpfully sent as well as trying a different SYMA app. Customer service at Cheerwing agrees it appears to be a software problem. That's a shame since the camera feature was a purchase decision. The positive: Cheerwing's customer service has been a delight to work with. They've been more than generous with replacement parts, and very quick to respond via email. Another star for their patient assistance. If the camera feature worked I'd be happy giving the last star. You really get quite a bit in a quad that you're paying less than 50 bucks for. It's good enough for me that even though Cheerwing offered to refund my money and have me ship the unit back I'm going to keep it.[ original review - It was fine for the first 6 battery charge cycles I had an opportunity to use it through over the 3 days I've had it, but on the 7th time while taking off from the floor it instead flipped itself over. Put it back on its legs and gave it some throttle but only three props were turning. A bit of investigation and discovered why it flipped over instead of launching - one of the teeth on the motor drive shaft gear had apparently sheared off when I gave it throttle. I'll see if Cheerwing has any ideas how to address this.Irony - the 6 pack of batteries I'd ordered to go with it arrive tomorrow.]

Under powered and unable to even hover properly. For the price, its actually pretty cool take a few flights has some decent maneuverability and the live camera view through your phone actually works pretty nicely allowing you to see a first person view as you fly around. Though that is about where all my good sides of this device end as the motors are really not powerful enough for the weight of the drone it is like the drone is just 1 motor size too small the video comes off a little pix-elated.I must say the price of this is actually really in a nice spot for the quality of the device I really think that with all its slightly too cheap parts well this is one of the cheapest drones out there and that FPV added onto it makes it worth it.Overall if you want a cheap drone to fly around a couple of times its a great device but if your looking at it for more of a tool and want to take pictures and videos this is the wrong device and you need to spend a little more money.

On its maiden voyage my DH crashed this on the roof of our house, it landed upside down and his method of getting it down was to spin the blades to make it jump around until if fell the 30 or so feet to the ground. While it was happening I was thinking that this was a pricey way for me to get a good laugh but when he recovered it, all was fine! And he is still crashing it, into trees, walls, ponds, and of course, our roof. So, all in all a great durable quadcopter at a reasonable price. Oh, he has taken a couple photos, but the quality is only soso.
A. Driver
Overall very satisfied with the quadcopter itself. The camera/app took a few tries to get it to sync up correctly. Video quality is pretty low, but for what I paid for this, it's acceptable. Fun/easy to fly, and pretty durable so far (I've manage to crash it from 10 feet up or so when it was about to get tangled into a basketball net, and it survived just fine. A word of caution - this thing will *not* fight wind. Much more than maybe 5-10 mph and you can't overcome the wind and it will go with the wind direction regardless of how much control input you give it.

I purchased this drone a few weeks ago for my nephew because he has an interest in these and I did not want to spend a lot of money on it since he is fairly young. The package came quickly and was packaged very well. It was very easy to assemble...in fact I have my nephew put the blades, guards and feet on himself because I wanted him to take ownership of the unit. The sync process to the phone was extremely simple. I have seen other versions of these that make it a bit difficult to get started. There was a slight learning curve while flying the drone, but it was quickly overcome and we were flying. One thing to note is that the camera quality is not that great at all, but definitely worth the money I spent on the unit. Be careful on windy days because you will fight gusts with this light drone.

I'm giving 5 stars because of the customer service that I've received on this purchase. We had some issues with the camera being detected on my Moto X Android phone. Cheerwing even offered to send me another one to test out, but yielded the same result, which I have since sent back to them. It ended up being a version of the software that was on the Google Play store. When I downloaded the app for my phone from the Syma website, it worked the first time. I'm guessing the play store hadn't been updated recently to work with the most recent versions of Android. As far as the drone itself, its really light weight, so windy days are a challenge. I've read about stalling out in the wind, but my experience has been shifting it to high rates will cut right through the wind. The FPV is not all that great and I would consider it more of a recorder due to the lag in the display. I think you'd be in trouble if you solely relied on the viewing through the phone. It is a fun feature to go up high and record some video, and surprisingly the video is not all that bad for a $50 drone.Battery time is short, so order yourself the six pack of rechargeable batteries and you'll be able to fly until tired of flying. This was my first drone purchase and a good little drone to learn on.Cheerwing went above and beyond the expectations on customer service and I would certainly order from them again!!

Cheerwing Syma X5SW-V3 FPV Explorers2 2.4Ghz 4CH 6-Axis Gyro RC Headless Quadcopter Drone UFO with HD Wifi Camera (White)This is one of best quadcopters i fly I have 12 syma quadcopters they are the best toy grade quadcopters you can get. Great way to learn how to fly a drone. It's made out of a soft plastic which has plenty of give so if it bounces off something you won't damage the drone or anything it hits. If you do manage to break something, parts are cheap and easy to replace. The camera is a bit of a let down but, really, the camera is just a toy. You aren't going to get a decent camera on any drone that's less than a couple of hundred dollars, but that's not what this is all about. This drone doesn't have lots of trick stabilizing things like auto-hover, it doesn't have GPS, and nor should you expect it to for the price - and that's perfect. You'll actually be able to learn to fly a drone without all the electronic assists so when you've figured that it is fun and it is something you want to get into, when you upgrade you'll be able to fly it a lot better than someone who's gone straight to an expensive piece of equipment.Battery life is pretty short so pick up a couple of spare batteries. You can get half a dozen and a unit that will charge all of them at the same time for about $15. There's some spare propellers in the box in case you break one of those.I'd happily recommend one of these to anyone who wants a cheap drone to mess around with.

I have a S5C-1 I've flown a hundred times. I got this X5SW today & flew it very nicely twice, on the third flight (after dark) it lost contact with the controller even though it was only about 25 ft away & flew off into the darkness not to be found. Not an issue with the supplier or anyone else just do your flying in the day time until you are SURE everything links up properly ! It's a good sturdy drone ! I have flown so much I never thought about loosing control / connection. I contacted Cheerwing ! The customer service is GREAT ! They said they will send me a new drone ! Not my fault , not their fault things happen ! Going to 5 stars !!!! :) I'm a happy camper ! I can't say enough good things about the staff at cheerwing. :) Cheerwing sent me a new X5SW as promised , 10 star for customer service ~

I was torn between the Hubsan X4/107 FPV and this Syma X5SW FPV.Syma initial impressions:- Surprisingly robust hardware and build quality.. screws for the prop guards.. a normal of and on switch.. cushions to protect the remote in the box.- Hover's well.. stable! How does it fly is the most important part of a drone experience to me. this seemed just fine once trimmed.- Wifi camera.. just had to turn it all on, download 'Syma FPV' from app store.. settings > connect to wifi.. video came right up. Amazingly easy!- Video is bright on iPhone 5 compared to Hubsan display.- Wifi connection was solid.- Battery comes tucked inside but barely charged. Be forewarned.- Battery 'banana' clip is a pain to detach.- Can other people in the park connect to my wifi?- Mild breeze pushed it right back to me.. not enough forward tilt.- The legs.. like trying to jump from two stories and not break a leg. All helicopters come with sleds or wheels. This one will be easy to knock over on landing and take off w/o some customization (zip ties to add cushion to the legs).- To attach the phone to the transmitter is just a huge bannana like clip.- Someone could run off or snatch your transmitter and phone.- What happens if someone calls while you are flying?- Battery was running low.. much camera lag.- The record stills and video buttons on the phone are miles away from sticks.. I literally had to take my hand off the throttle to snap a photo..If it were windy.. or some such, this would be a deal breaker. On the Hubsan your hands never have to leave the controls.- Display shows in 16x9 but records in 4x3.. this is really annoying.- Looking down, there's no visual orientation indicator, front vs. back. Paint or sharpie your prop guards?- The controllers center of balance is off because the phone far outweighs the controller making it top heavy.Hubsan X4/107 FPV vs. Syma FPV?Unfortunately I didn't get to fly the Hubsan too too much.. but I'd say it depends.. The Hubsan is so small and they fly so great. I imagine the Hubsan would be much easier to lose. However, I'm much more comfortable flying the Hubsan around the neighbor hood. Very small and unobtrusive. I can fly the Hubsan indoors for instance. The video downlink on the Hubsan wasn't great though.. I could see.. it was just okay with some static coming in even from close distances. I think for a video experience and the price, so far I enjoy the Syma.. also bc it is bigger.. the video isn't so wobbly. I think I'll keep this drone but I'm not sure if I will get another Hubsan FPV. I do wish the camera on the Syma was better but works for now.

Bought this to learn to fly before considering a more expensive unit. Has some of the key features such as headless/IOC function, which is a must to learn and enjoy. Battery life for flight time is about ten minutes, but with an inexpensive battery pack such asCheerwing 3.7V 650mAh Lipo Battery (4PCS) flying time can be extended with simple and quick battery swaps. The range of flight isn't great and fly aways can happen if you venture too far outdoors. I fly mine mostly indoors, which is a lot of fun. The antenna can be hacked to extend range (see youtube videos). Lastly, really a very durable unit and good for simple fun or for learning to fly before getting the much more expensive units.

This drone is great for the price. I bought this for my son for his birthday. It is suprisingly durable. I have wreaked this in large bushes, trees, and walls. Only thing I broke was a guard for one of the propellers. Best part is cheerwing had a great website with esentially every replacement part you can imagine. That is essential when flying these as small parts break easily and replacements are inexpensive. The battery does only last 15 minutes but I purchased a larger one off the cheerwing website that goes 20 min or so. It is easy to switch out two batteries. Overall we enjoy this product. We haven't had much opportunity to mess around with the camera, but from what I see the quality isn't the best. But for the price I wouldn't expect much. Perfect for a kid for sure. Only issues we found were it can't handle outdoors if there is a wind over 5-7 mph. It is so light it gets blown away. So be careful. Another thing is the headless mode isn't the best. Good thing is this can be turned on and off. Otherwise for the price, this is great and my son and I love to fly it.

a great beginners drone. My 9 year old was able to get the hang of it pretty quick, even though he is a first timer. The camera is pretty good for the price. Its pretty durable as well. You can buy replacement prop protectors and such pretty cheap as well. One of the motors is running a little slower than the others after about 4 months of use. You can buy replacement ones cheaply on amazon, and lots of you tube videos on how to replace them. Overall, still a great beginner drone.

It takes a beating and just keeps on going. This is my first drone and took me about a day to learn to fly it. I now can fly almost like a pro. crashed it a few times into trees on the ground etc the paint has faded and got a few scratches but just keeps on going. I do have to say buy the 5 pack of the 1200 ma hour battery as the one that comes with it only last 3 to 7 min if you are lucky. You will get about an hour of flight with the 5 pack. I love this drone to learn to fly with but, The motors burn up very fast. I am not sure if it is from buying the bigger batteries or just normal wear and tear. It was great to learn to fly with though have moved on to the upair one plus and dji.

Extremely great for the price. Drone assembled so quick and easy anyone can do it. Setup was straight forward without issues. In fact my 6 yr old nephew was telling me where the blade guards go and how to attach the camera and battery. One of the blade guards was deformed so a quick message to the seller had a new set in the mail that day. All 4, not just the one that was twisted.Camera quality, range, performance are all good enough for what it will be used for. My Android phone connects quickly for FPV (first person view) and live video/photos through both Syma Go and FPV apps. It is handy to be able to control the drone straight from a touch screen device instead of the included remote control.I would highly recommend this for first timers or a spare to play with. I also purchased extra batteries for long operating times and next will be the case that Amazon has in which the drone will fit inside fully assembled. Other cases require removal of the feet, blades and guards. Pay attention to which case you buy so it fits like a glove.AA+++ quad and seller. I will be purchasing more drones and accessories through this seller.

*edited*After our review and request for refund, the company reached out to us immediately. They apologized and shipped a new one out to us as soon as possible. The new one was actually new, had all the parts and works perfectly. Our family is enjoying it. One product issue is the battery. It lasts 20 min, 10 if you use the camera. We are going to invest in a couple of back up batteries soon.Original Review -"We just opened our box this morning for Christmas and out of the box this is used!! This has crashed and scratches and smudge marks. Pieces were broken off where they were put together. I am DISGUSTED!"

This was a great drone for the low price that I paid for it. I was actually shocked in the duribilitu and size of this drone. I used a wifi router booster attenna on the controller and just rerouted the attenna on the drone from inside the wing to the bottom of the drone and was shocked to find out to my surprise that I was able to fly the length of a football field with no issues. The only problem is when this drone loses its connection it will keep flying away instead of dropping out of the sky. Got a little to far when the wind grabbed it and it lost connection and flew right into a 100' tree and was lost. Also it's very sensitive to wind. It's best to fly on a none windy day. This drone surprisingly did very good for its price tag and would and have recommended this drone for people before they buy an expensive drone. And from what I have heard the syma x8 is the knockoff of a dj phantom without the gps but it has bigger batteries and can hold a GoPro and has a one button return or returns if connection is lost. Some people have recommended it over paying an arm and leg for a phantom

If looking for a cheap entry-level quad copter than this is a perfect fit. This is a great beginner quad-copter, and so far after 5 flights, the unit and remote appear to work/fly perfectly. Can be a bit troublesome in anything other than a SLIGHT breeze, but besides that I can't find another negative. The headless mode feature is a must for those who have never flown one before, and works perfectly. Also, as others have stated, the battery lasts approximately 5 minutes (or less) and takes a good while to charge, so consider picking up a few more spare batteries to have on-hand. The video will lag (due to wireless signal), so don't expect to fly this from using your phone as a view-finder, but for $50.00 who cares - Its just fun to fly, and mess around with until your ready to pony up the serious $$$$ and buy a professional one.

This Quadcopter is absolutely worth more than what you pay for. I recently returned a more expensive quadcopter made by a different company and bought this one. The returned model was much lower quality in both performance and ascetics. The Cheerwing Syma is well constructed and handles excellently right out of the box. I consider my self an especially "average" pilot but I fly mine both inside and out with few problems. The video is mediocre and don't expect to pilot this thing with live video display on your phone. The image will be grainy and lags a bit. But is fun to use in tandem. Their is a reason I didn't give this 4 stars. I read into the description and comments and realized this before I bought it. That was more than what I was looking for anyway. If you are looking to fly using only video you can attach different cameras though. The camera just clips into the bottom of the drone.Hope this was helpful for some people!

This is a great drone for the money and then some. It is easy to fly for a beginner and still spirited enough for more accomplished users to have some fun. The camera does a good job with the wifi making videos a little choppy especially if you move to fast but still good enough to see things from a prospective that you can't get from the ground. Flies well in light breeze but certainly could get away from a novice if you let it get out of hand. I fly it a lot without the camera which cuts down on windage and extends battery life. I get about 7 minutes flying in a moderate manner. This is not five or eight hundred dollar professional drone but it is a very good, stable and durable quad copter. I don't call it a toy as it is capable of moving quickly through the air and should be used in a safe and respectful manner especially around pets and other people. For under fifty bucks I can't think of anything I've bought and had this much fun with lately!

NOOBE this is the drone you are looking for. You can read the many reviews here, you will learn that this thing is a tank! It can take what you dish out and come back for more. I have leant it to 5 friends and their kids to see if they liked flying drones and to learn to fly. The worst damage has been one of the prop guards got broken - easily replaced. The other benefit from having a cheap drone like this is- you don't care if you beat it up. And you will actually be able to FLY- not just rely on software to do all the work. Your 1K Mavic Pro- yeah, your going to be sad if you learn to fly manually (ATTI Mode) on that and auger it in, or things go wrong and it drops into ATTI and you have to fly it back or you crash. I recommend this drone to anyone who is thinking about getting serious in drones and wants to test the water, or experienced operators that want to have fun or learn to fly without the HAL 9000's help.
Mr. Brown
For my first drone, the price was right! Flying this is not as easy as I thought it would be, but definitely a lot easier than a 4D helicopter. Ive crashed and burned practicing more times than I can count with this drone, (indoors) and I expected parts to break on it, but nothing has broken yet! Battery life is about 5minutes, so I do plan to buy more batteries (which are very inexpensive)!Have not used the camera yet, and I may never use it, mainly because this is a Practice Drone for me to learn with. One minor thing I noticed was at times after crashing, the gear that spins the propeller shaft tends to slide out of alignment. This is an easy fix! Simply flip the drone over, use a small flat head screwdriver, push the gear back into place. You shouldnt have to take it apart. All said and done, I recommend this drone for learning and getting used to the controls, and flying before stepping up to a more expensive version!
whatever
Great fun at a great price. Very cost effective drone purchase. Good for new pilots like me and inexpensive enough that I don't panic or worry about damaging it. Low-speed mode is excellent for warming up or for new pilots. High-speed mode adds more agility and fun once you've warmed up.FPV camera is pretty useless. Neat gimmick but too cumbersome to use my phone on the camera's built-in WiFi hotspot. Whenever phone is on the camera WiFi, internet connectivity is lost so my phone is completely monopolized by the camera feed. Low framerate and quality round out the trifecta of failure and I just leave the camera off completely. Wish I had purchased the model with SD card camera.Even with the camera discarded it's tons of fun to fly and the low price eliminates the fear of pushing it to it's limits.

This is a great purchase at such an affordable price! We've had so much fun with it that we are ordering more for Christmas so everyone can have one.Don't expect to be able to fly it by FPV because there is such a delay in the signal getting to the phone/tablet that it's too late to react to the environment. BUT, that being said you can record some fun videos and get some cool photos with it. My son likes making videos flying around our house and hovering up by the door and windows for our cats to look out at the drone and chase to the next window. It's so funny. This is what I would recommend getting to get started into drones. Perfect for kids or newbies.

Very fast shipping (got the bonus "free 1 day shipping" option on Prime). Well packaged, no damage, everything works as it should. I had a Syma helicopter before and this quad is much different to fly, takes some getting used to. After a battery charge, I tried it out inside and knocked about a little bit. It is sturdy and can take some lumps despite being extremely light. Here are my first impression notes:- Controls are sensitive, be careful not to overcompensate when adjusting - use small movements- Fwd, Back, and sideways travel will cause changes in altitude - use the throttle to maintain height- Inside - stay clear of flat ceilings - the rotors will have a vacuum effect and suck the quad up to the surface of the ceiling and it is very tough to recover without a crash- Battery life is very short (5-6 minutes) - you will need extra batteries if you want to get some useful practice time and get good flying this thing- Camera - not bad, more for fun than anything practical. Effortless to set up the connection. Note: there is no memory on the camera, all photos and videos are saved on the device where the Syma FPV app runs (phone/tablet)I'll update here when I have some more experience and take it outside...Update 13-Jul-2016: Got a chance to use this outside during a 4th of July party. I found it very difficult to fly with a light breeze blowing. Control was sporadic and range was not as good as I expected. Once the drone reached the height of the two story home we were at, control was very difficult. I'm not sure if this was due to the wind or distance/range (probably both). If we kept the drone at a moderate height, we were able to fly it as far as across the street into the neighbor's front yard before losing controller range (this was in a typical residential area - a distance of about 60-80 feet). The camera worked great and never lost connection. Pictures and videos were not bad at all, although sometimes very blurry due to erratic movement of the drone. This toy was a big hit at the party though! We had a blast with it inside and the kids loved chasing it around and getting in the videos. That alone was worth the price!
GloCa22
Great gift this was. My nephew loved it when he unwrapped it and liked it even more when tried it. It's practically weightless and comes with a vide cam that records while flying it and transmits live through the phone. The remote control looks very sophisticated with all sorts of fancy buttons and display to my understanding. I also tried it myself and liked it too. It was easy to assemble with a small screwdriver included in the box. With a spare set of blades. It's pretty powerful and flies really high that got stuck in a tree where I needed the latter to reach for it
Dan
For a cheap drone/quad (whatever you want to call it), just to dink around with or learn controls with, it's great. Range is only a few hundred feet, and a little less with the camera streaming. (since it runs on the same 2.4ghz). But over all I'm satisfied with it. Takes a beating and keeps going. Just fyi being so light, the littlest breeze will blow this thing and with no GPS it's up to you to level it out. But overall I would recommend this thing for those who want to learn on the cheap or let their kids play/learn with out breaking the bank.

Updated review: The seller was very quick to address the previous issues I had and offered to replace my drone for free. The gesture alone was very appreciated. Ive been able to take this drone out now and will say it is dependable. At this price range it does everything you'd expect and works well. Very happy.Initial review: First off, for the price I knew I wasn't getting the best drone around. But this thing flew off into the light wind at 15-20ft, landing in a tree. This was after I had calibrated for drift and sway. I flew it again after and no issues, then suddenly I go to use it and it won't turn on, lights or motors. I smelt a burnt electrical smell, seems it has shorted the circuit. Flown it a whole 4 times...

Cheerwing shipped this unit and I have been using it for the last 4 weeks. The unit itself holds up to all of the reviews that you can read.Excellent training copter and has the fun of having FPV. Regarding quality the "W FPV" doesn't have an on-board recording to MiniSD so you will only get the quality of the wireless delivered to your phone. As in other reviews the FPV is about 3-5 seconds behind the actual copter so you WILL NOT be able to fly FPV but it is useful for lining up shots, or practicing possible video moves.I would get any of the X5S series again as a trainer without any hesitation!

The drone does not power on. I fully charged the battery, made sure it was connected properly.Update 5/20/18:I was going to return the drone and had already printed the return label when I received the extra batteries I had ordered for it. I decided to try one of the PowerExtra batteries and the drone powered on and seems to be working fine. So, I decided to cancel the return. I wrote to Cheerwing and, even though the product was fulfilled by Amazon, they said that they will send me a battery to replace the defective one.Since the issue was just the battery and Cheerwing's offered to replace it, I am updating the review from 1 star to 4 stars.

This easily is one of my favorite purchases on amazing, great quality and came at a very quick speed, it was very easy to open and very easy to set up. It came with many replacement blades, extra screws, and a mini screw driver to help put together with ease. The one downside is that it is so light that the wind has a huge effect on it when flying, but it's fine if not flown on a super windy day! Great buy, and lots of great things for its price.

This Quad is the easiest to learn to fly although the camera doesn't work. Keeps telling me the camera isn't plugged in, but it is!! I know how to get the App for Android as I have Quad V686 and works perfectly. This one won't work :( I rate this a 4 because of the camera offside of that great Quad for the price. Update - 15 flights total and one motor goes bad in a hover position on headless speed. Needless to say I got a defective shipment this copter does fly good
PismoPat
This is a good quad to get some good basic flight time. Very durable and can withstand crashes. It is very light, so susceptible to wind. Parts are very inexpensive and DIY repair is easy. I had a motor go out and replacement was quite easy using YouTube videos. It's an amazing bang for the buck. I consider it a good trainer or a good quad for a young boy of about 10.The one thing I don't like is the fact that the controls are not the same as DJI popular quads. The right stick left and right controls yaw and the left stick left and right controls side-wards direction. This is unnatural since in a real plane, the right hand would control pitch and turns and the left hand would be on the throttle (Military aircraft.)

I initially bought these for my sons as an Easter gift. A bit skeptical at first, given the low price point, but that was also a selling point for me in case they destroyed it. After unpacking and testing them a bit, the boys were off and flying with their new Syma X5C quadcopters. App and camera integration was easy, and the camera takes amazing video and photo footage. Blinking LEDs indicate flight and battery health while the unit is up and flying. Packaging was nice and they came in boxes with nice foam cutouts so that nothing was damaged during shipping. The unit comes with rotor guards, camera, battery, landing gear, and spare rotors. All-in-all, a very nice quadcopter purchased at a value, and I'm happy with the purchase!
Amazon Customer
Fun to fly, decent video and pics. Outstanding bargain for the price. Very tough, had some pretty hard crashes but it still flies great. I will say that it is very tough to control in a light wind. On calm days it does everything Syma says it will do. I have had a lot of fun with this little drone, so much so I have decided to get a bigger one. DJI Phantom 3 Standard. I will post a review once I receive it and have flown it a few times. This Syma X5SW-V3 is awesome though. If you need spare parts they are readily available from their website. Due to the limited flight time I do recommend purchashing extra batteries and a charger.
Karen Giacobbi
This is the first drone I have bought and it came a day early thank you, Amazon for combining purchases. So first thoughts, very easy to assemble and the instructions are straight forward. Flew once already and since this is my first time flying I will say it appears to be sturdy it took multiple hits to the ground and a wall with no damage. I would definitely suggest this as a trainer however, purchase extra batteries, waiting and hour and a half for 5 minutes of flight time is exhausting. Understand that due to the weight of the battery and camera most drones have a very short flight time so the extra batteries are really needed. This product has a lot of extras that can be purchased such as different colored blades, landing feet, carry case etc... nice for people that may want to add color. Looking foreword to getting better at flying and testing this drone to the limit.

Best purchase ever. Invest in a generic 4 or 6 multi charger and batteries, its worth it to play for 25min + at a time. Thanks to this quad, i have a complete understanding of maneuverability and that transitions well into pro level/ hobby grade quads.I now own a CF generic 250 and can maneuver like no ones business, yet, when i'm at home smoking in the evening or in the neighborhood in general. I pull out my little Syma X5SW and zip around the trees and mess around. I must have somewhere in the vicinity of 60 hours with this thing and by now its 30% crazy glue, but it is still a joy to fly around with it.There are plenty of parts and no repair is too daunting. Youtube is a great help if you need it.Best 60 bucks i've spent all year.
Jesse Hornbeak
Couldn't be more impressed with this. Got it stuck 50ft or more up in a tree the first day and spent hours getting it down, have crashed it numerous times and it hasn't broken yet. I can't believe you can buy something that is readiocontrolled and flys that is this resilient and costs this little. Camera is soso but didn't expect much and honestly my son hasn't been that worried about it. As with all these smaller and lighter weight units the wind is a HUGE factor when flying. I purchased a huge pack of replacement parts at the same time but have yet to need the first one. The best addition was buying a pack of 5?6? batteries and charger so we can fly it for up to an hour.

When our daughters expressed the desire to get a drone for Christmas, I did some research on the model they requested. It was from a different brand and different store with less than stellar reviews, so I researched on Amazon instead and found this well-liked drone with good reviews. We received it and the girls are happy little campers! My husband is still learning to navigate it and then will then pass on his expertise to his little apprentices. I can't help but think of how this kind of thing would only have seemed like sci-fi in my youth, to have a flying object in our very own home! Also, one little gear cover was missing but Cheerwing responded right away and is sending the needed part immediately (the drone does work without this part). Great customer service & great product!
John Thomas
I bought this for my 10 year old son, and a few days out it's working great. It is far lighter than I expected, so I understand the other reviews that talk about problems with even mild wind. We bought a pack of 5 extra batteries, and that seems to keep it running. He has already spent hours flying it, and it's pretty simple for a kid to learn. We did have to order a pack of replacement pieces right off the back because the landing skid broke. So, not a high quality, durable item, but for the money, I'm satisfied with what we got.
Shawn E. Decker
For the price you can't go wrong. Has features many drones costing more doesn't have. 6 gyros so this baby hovers steady. I can walk it around my gameroom with ease. I love this drone. I haven't used the camera yet but have done my homework and again for the $$ this is a great value. Comes with spare props and the 500mhr battery works good but a simple $15 investment will get you a 6 pack of 750mhr batteries with charger. Like I said, easy to fly, stable and can take vids/pics off the camera. I've paid much more for a meal than I did this drone and don't regret it. It's a fun drone for the $$.
Robbyg
For the price it works very well and gives you a good feel of how to fly a drone in ATTI mode.I cannot compare it to the $900 DJI drone that I have that has GPS lock etc but this is certainly will help to get your skill level up and give you a nice taste of what it's like to fly a drone. Makes a great gift for a 10 year old or someone who wants to wet their feet in the Drone hobby without spending big $$
shan24
Very happy with this purchase, but a few comments...The instructions could be written a little better for a first-time drone user. My son can control this drone with the controller very easily, unlike previous RC helicopters that were very hard to fly.The little silver contact pieces on the charger cord end keep raising up and making it hard to connect to the drone. I almost contacted the seller to see about replacing the charger cord, but if we press them back down, it is working so far. I'm just afraid my 12 yr old son isn't going to be gentle enough with plugging in the charger cord. But so far so good.I have already recommended this to a friend who wants an entry-level drone with a camera. Excellent price!
Fishemup
Great drone, easy to get going. The parts, camera, screw driver and everything else was in the bottom part of the shipping box.I just had to turn it over. The battery was already in the compartment where the camera attaches.Plugged it in to the charger and was ready to go.Tried it out and wasn't that hard to get used to.Did get a package of 5 extra batteries so I could use it longer with my grandson. Can't wait to see the look on his face on Christmas day

I am always craving one of this toys when i was little ,today i finally give it a try,I ordered last week and its came very fast ,so i would like to give it 5 stars letting other people know what is good about it product. the drone is super light weight you can easily control it by yourself ,it can be fly Up to 50-meter long and with Wifi camera can watch what your camera sees in the sky ,this is the most Exciting things for me .it was very cool and entertained .the price is very fair at a competitive product .

This is a great copter all around. It flies really good, especially on high speed, easy to fly. This is a great learning drone, very resilient.A tough little machine, I have crashed mine multiple times. It went in the lake today and I thought well that's it! When I fished it off the bottom of the lake the lights were still blinking! I disconnected the battery and let it dry out for day and much to my joy it flies like brand new. Very happy with Syma products to date, I have several models. Parts are easy to replace, mods can be made to increase distance, etc. A good tough copter, a good purchase!
radcont51
I have a couple of RC Helicopters that I fly around the house, but have always wanted a drone. I bought this less expensive one to learn how to fly them and this one is easy to set up and use. I did buy a 5 battery 750mah set which barely fit and slightly difficult to insert and remove, but give a little more flight time than the 500mah battery that comes with it. It was easy to set up, trim and fly and once it's trimmed up, is very stable. Haven't tried it outside yet, but will when the snow melts. The camera isn't the best, but works for training and learning how to use one. Very satisfied with it.
Ivan Rosabal
Great for a beginner. Video is ok. FPV wireless connection and app. R excellent. Very durable.
BiggO
Easy to use and operate, my 15 year old son had this drone charged up and flying in no time. After you download the app for your phone (the only way to record video is from your phone) he was recording video of his flying. Tough and durable body as he also had a few Oops moments but the drone seems very well balanced and is very fast too. Battery life seems to last on average of other drones in the same size category. Price for what you get seems to be good as well.
StuperGenius
I just received the drone today and so far I am impressed. This is a nice copter for the price. The unboxing and setup only took a few minutes and was simple enough that I didn't really need the instructions. The controls are very much like other micro-drones and I was flying it less than 30 minutes after getting the package. The FPV camera and software worked as advertised and also only took a few minutes to setup. I used the QR code to install the software on my iPhone and I was looking through the camera on my first flight. The FPV should not be considered a tool for navigation during flight. The video and picture quality is OK, but there is enough lag to prevent flying outside line of site. This isn't a problem as I didn't expect to use FPV for navigation on such an inexpensive drone. The picture and video buttons are on the left side of the application which is helpful as you can set the thrust and quickly start the video while keeping the control with your right hand.So far I have only one minor issue with the drone; when flying it seems to lose it's center and progressively starts to drive more forward. This never gets to the point where I cannot control the drone but after a few minutes of navigating I find I have to keep constant backward control input to hover. Trim does not overcome this. The only solution is to land, use the controls to reset center and take off again. Otherwise the controls are responsive and the drone is very stable.
escriban
A good little starter kit. Manual is not the easiest to understand but mostly helpful. Drone is very light weight and subject to moderate wind. But good deal for the price.
Keven
I loved it! I got it stuck it in a tree on day four though. I regret nothing and will probably buy another Syma more expensive drone sometime soon, but as a starter drone I feel it was a good flyer. The picture quality is not great, but it's good enough to post interesting selfies on Facebook.VERY DURABLE! I lost my X5SW to a tree on day four, but the first 3 days were some very high and hard collisions. Still flew like a champ despite the abuse I put it though. I only broke a few propeller guards and it even came with spares! It takes minimal technical know how to set up. Mostly just screwing on the legs and guards, the screws are small but it's doable for anyone age 8 and up.
Roy
I got two of these drones, one for me one for my son. We have had a blast with them. They are very durable. I am a first time owner so I was not good at flying them at first so they took a lot of crashes and kept on going. I would suggest buying an additional 4 batteries and a good charger. That way you can fly non stop if you want.
Julie Carlson
Bought it as a flying drone mainly and it excels at that. Very fast and easy and flies very good without the camera and has maybe 3 minutes extra fly time without it. Camera quality is not the best but not a problem for me as i do not need crystal clear video and it serves its purpose when i need it. All around have only had a few problems with it like it sometimes losing connection and falling a bit when flying particularly high. All around, you get what you get for 30 dollars. Excellent drone and worth every penny.
samiam
So far so good. Instruction manual is not as clear as it should be though. I think Ill be able to figure out the features and how to fly it with trial and error and just trying extra hard to understand the manual. For the price the quality and fun factor has been a good value, particularly given the fact that I am completely new to flying drones.Because of the short battery life, I have since ordered on Amazon the 4--battery charging system. The drone came with a discount code fir 20% off of future purchases which I tried to use for the battery purchase, but Amazon would not honor the code. CHEERWING, can you help getting this discount applied to this battery purchase?
Dina Wear
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. he is always hard to shop for because he never gives me anything to go by. so i decided to get him something fun for him to play with on our free time since he works 6 days a week.he was so excited when he opened it. we charged the battery right away. installed the app and had everything ready.we crashed it more than once. we love how durable it is. it is put together very well.the only reason i didn't give this product a full 5 stars is because the battery life isn't that great. we get maybe 10 minutes of fly time in a full day charge. very disappointing.i didn't do much research when purchasing drones. i honestly looked for one for beginners (which i believe we got) but i was hoping the battery would last longer than 10 minutes!
Danny Keller
This is a great price for a drone with a camera. It comes with a controller that uses your phone for video. The one key roll button makes you look professional from the start. The headless/IOC function makes this drone easier to fly. This drone is well made and the sudden stops Ive had while flying doesnt stop it, it continues to fly.Dont spend more money, this drone has a lot to offer.
R. Ballister
Great first drone. Flies well; a bit difficult to trim out. Definitely recommend that you try it in as clear a space as possible, especially if you don't have much drone experience; this can get away from an inexperienced operator. Already banged up my landing gear and rotor guards; but replacements are cheap and the components definitely protected the more valuable parts of the drone.Camera feature adds a whole new dimension; software was easy to install on my phone.Definitely takes practice, but a LOT of fun for a decent price.

For the price, it's a nice little drone. Don't think this is anything like a DJI product because it's more like a remote contol drone you'd but your kids. It's not smart like more expensive drones, but it's really fun to fly. The camera is better than I thought it would be, but it doesn't record sound. I suggest you also buy a 4-pack of batteries with multi-charger for like another $16 on Amazon, otherwise you'll spend more time waiting for your battery to charge than you will flying. FYI, battery life is cut in half of you're using the camera. But I've had it for a week with no issues at all. Fun little drone

Lots of parts available for break fix.Pros: Easy to fly, Easy to repair Not too costly to walk away from. Lets you see if you want to take the next step to big flying Fly indoor or out Battery upgrades work great.Cons: Not much really, Kind of cheap. Would like a bigger motor. Can't haul anything

find a rec area with no obstacles and buy more batteries and have fun all day long. For training and stunts I put mine in "center" mode so it doesn't matter which way it is facing to make turns or come be towards me.

This is my first drone and its not a bad buy for the price. Still learning the controls. Control joysticks are pretty sensitive. Pressed up on the lever and it shot up like a speeding bullet, so the first day out of box I got in stuck in a tree in my front yard. Had to cut branch down to get it back. It was stuck for a day and even though the battery was dead it still worked after recharging. And that was in 75 degree Georgia heat. Camera functions as advertised. So good for beginners, just watch out for trees.

First drone we've had; bought for the 6 year old for Christmas this year. We've put dozens of flights on it, inside, outside, all over the place. Stuck in trees, hats, walls, attacked by the dogs, chased the cat and his mom. We haven't broken anything in probably 2 to 3 total hours of flight. This toy is worth the money, and a great trainer if your kid (or you) might want to try before more expensive units.

Ok look. Its a $50 drone/toy and not a uber expensive professional machine. I figured I would get my $50 with my son and I flying this around and it was indeed fun. That is until I tried to show off for him and got it stuck in a tree. 2 years it spent in that Virginia tree until yesterday it finally fell. We put in a charged battery and the boy was flying it around the living room! 2 years in the weather and it still works! I dont know what they made this of but the quality is great and I highly recommend!

This quad is a excellent product for the price, but I do recommend 1 thing, that you have at least 3/4 of a acre that's free of all trees, power lines, and any tall obstacles this copter is loads of fun and is pretty fast also you will want to buy the recommended 4 extra batteries with the charger, cause it only Flys 7 mins on one battery, so be safe and have fun. P.S. a quad copter does take practice to correctly fly it

Ok so I bought this the last week of October, promptly parked it in a tree.A week later I bought another because it was so cool. Since then living in the Northeast we have had multiple thunder storms, three feet of snow, a blizzard and it's below -20 for weeks .It's been a brutal winter so far,Still it stays in the tree, till today!!! Finally got it down Jan.9 2018. I'll be dammed it still works 100% even the camera! So I have purchased 3 of thees things and for the money you CAN'T go wrong.

This is one of the better drones out there, got a very good price on it on Amazon. It is pretty durable and easy to navigate. Again, battery life only goes for about 15 minutes before having to recharge so just be ready to have backup batteries or time your flights well.

I got this drone yesterday it's very easy to fly the fvp is lagy but has a very good camera for the price of the drone it's very strong I've crashed it from a high height and it survived the range is not that great I would say you get a 200yds of range and a 100ft high height so very good drone for price
Elena Soria
I liked the price, it's fun and easy to control, sturdier than expected,it has bumped all over many times and still runs perfect. The application is great you can save the videos, though the format doesn't allow to share. The only low point I find is the battery life 5-7 minutes and fun is gone, you have to recharge (takes more than one hour to do so). But overall good to practice.
Dawn
Very easy to use. Goes through batteries fast so I bought additional batteries and a charger test can charge up to 6 batteries, I woulda suggest buying additional batteries

This is a very good little flier. Ready to fly out of the box and FPV hook-up to my phone was simple to install and use. I'm a new flier and I had this drone in the air the evening it was delivered. It is tough and has stood up to many crashes already, the only part to break so far is one of the landing legs. I remind new owners that this drone is very light in weight and needs no more then a 5 mph wind to fly without effort. There are many videos to help you learn to fly this drone. It is small enough to practice flying inside, although I would recommend that to fly in doors have high ceiling and/or an RV garage to give you air space. I've had fun every day with this drone. Great drone.
Jeff Netz
Love it! Great quad to learn on. Doesn't have the advanced features like altitude hold and such, which is a good thing for learning. I crashed it many times and it kept going. Removing the legs made it a little more fun to fly outdoors.
Tom Emerson
This is a great copter. I bought is for a blind friend and the headless function works great for him. Yes, he is a great pilot and has taught me how to fly. HIs hearing sense is pretty awesome. Highly recommended. We have not tried to use the camera function and cannot comment on this.

This drone must be the best radio controlled item on the market. It is very strong, and after falling out of the sky, (and off my 3 story roof) and onto my concrete driveway, it preforms beautifully. When I recived the drone, it came charged and ready to fly. It is a short process to have the camera connected to your smart device. The box said that the drone can fly for 5.5 mins, but the drone itself can actually fly for at least 10 minutes.

This was my first drone. I was really impressed with the sheer size of it. The overall look and design of the drone is pretty good. It's super durable, given my first free attempts to fly did not got too well. After about a week and learning basics, this thing is awesome is definitely great for beginners. I love the fact that it came with a few replacement parts which amazingly I have not had to use, yet. The remote unit is very comfortable and user friendly. It's not bogged down with a tonne of extra buttons and controls making it, again, perfect for a beginner. The detachable camera exactly produces a pretty decent video feed as I'm flying. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely Not 1080p he or even 720, but for what it is, it's darn decent quality. Great beginner drone for anyone wanting to learn to fly drone. In expensive, durable and a lot of fun. Thumbs up and highly recommend.
Melissa Price
This thing is awesome and definitely worth the money. I do recommend buying extra batteries as the battery life is limited to about 15 minutes or so. So we ordered a 5 pack of extra batteries. Video quality is better then I expected. My son love this.

Purchased this as a starter drone for my grandson. Had some difficulty getting the camera to work with Android phone. After working with tech support, we figured out that you must connect to the camera prior to connecting the remote. Once this is done, the camera works very well. After dealing with tech support via email and seeing that they really want their customers to be satisfied, I would definitely recommend any of their products based on that alone.

This is an excellent quad to learn on. It doesn't have altitude-hold, so it's very fluid to fly. The controls are smooth and it has nice throttle response. The wifi camera is mediocre, but it's also detachable, which saves some weight and improves flight times if you don't care about video/pictures. I also found the prop guards to be more trouble than they're worth, so I don't use them anymore. My experience was that they would bend and rub against the props. Again, taking them off lowers the weight and improves flight time. This drone is cheap, durable, and responsive. I'd recommend it as a good mid-sized drone to start out with.

works fine, too fragile compare to holystone F181, but I love the design and color, very visible at night and it bothers me for night flying headless mode for led lights are flashing, little bit hard to trace, solid lights should have been better. fast response and very responsive.
Henry Tregillus
This is a pretty fun quad, but two things stand out for me:Number one, the streaming quality is garbage and the latency is so huge that it's pretty much not even worth it. I took the camera off day-of because it just hurt the battery life. It would be worth it if there was an SD card slot onboard.Number two, you can't turn the autostabilization off. This isn't EXACTLY a negative but it'd be a lot of fun to push its limits given that:It's fast as hell and feels super agile and responsive. It's up there with the Nano QX when it comes to this. All in all, loads of fun, definitely a good quad to start with, but not one to use if you want to get into racing or videography

We have purchased two of these drones, just because we really like their durability, range, camera and most importantly price. You will get your money's worth. Our drones have taken nasty falls but they have yet to break. We've been using this drone for about 4 months and they work just as well as when we first got them. The company itself is also very helpful we were sent the wrong color drone and they made it really easy to return the drone and send us a new one. The camera isn't high quality frame by frame type of recording which is something we went in expecting and we were surprised to get something better than we thought. It does get blurry and choppy every once in a while but for the most part it's a pretty good camera and the app is super easy to use.

for a drone under 50 bucks shipped it is a damn good drone. this is my very first drone. it is extremely light and nimble. The replacement parts for this drone are cheap too. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great starter drone. I will be buying this again for some family members who want to get into flying drones.
Mick
It doesn't fly too well in wind over 10-15 mph as it doesn't generate enough thrust to fight against it.I took it down the beach in South Jersey and it just ended up flying away from me on the strong breeze until I had to crash it on purpose. It survived the crash none the worse for wear.In a small breeze/no breeze scenario it is quite enjoyable to fly around and the camera attachment/broadcast to cell phone video works quite well.

Drone is great. Got two of these bad boys. they fly great and would definitely recommend them to beginner's like me. Once tuned up well, they will fly like you want them to. Headless function is fantastic. The only things i was little upset about drone was missing battery. Message cheerwing USA and reply to my message the next day and told me they will ssnd me a battery and give it a acouple days to come, but After 2 days my battery came in the mail. What a outstanding customer service they have. Would definitely recommend their product.

Mainly the price, it take not bad photos but for the price you can't eat it..Flying is somewhat challenging, if you can get it to hover real well it will fly well if when you try to hover it goes here and there if you don't fix it then you will wreck for sure...takes alot of abuse and parts are cheap...watch for wind, it doesn't take much to over power you controls
Dejie Zhen
For a person that has never owned a drone before, this product completely had me dazzled. The set up was extremely easy and not too complicated. If you are looking for an amazing drone and you're frugal, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU!Pros-a cheaper priced drone, only 45$!-easy setup, has a camera too!-antenna for increase radius-enjoyable for all agesCons-battery life uptime is not that long lasting

This little bugger works good!!! Although don't think you're getting a phantom for this price range either.i have a phantom 3 and I got this for my 7 year old daughter. I'll tell you one thing it can take one heck of a beating. We've crashed this thing so many times its not even funny.and it keeps on going.the video quality is acceptable at this price point. Not great

I bought this for myself because I didn't want to spend hundreds or thousands crash and waste the $.I was skeptical at first because of the cheap cost. It is great to fly in light winds and the dual colored lights are easy to see during the day in the distance that way you know which way is fore wards. The camera is blurry and is not self stabilizing. I accidentally landed this in a small pond in over 4 feet of water it stayed in there for over 15 minutes and the camera and motor both work like a charm. Wings and guard are nicely built I have crashed it several times and have gotten stuck in trees without breaking one blade it also comes with extras which is nice.

Battery life is only 10 minutes so that sucks. I would suggest getting more batteries if you plan on playing with it longer than 10 minutes at a time. Flies great, go far and will start to come back if it gets to far or the battery starts to die. The camera is surprisingly Amazing and even easy to see at night! Worth every single dollar so far
