IP Code
The IP Code (or International Protection Rating, sometimes also interpreted as Ingress Protection Rating*) consists of the letters IP followed by two digits and an optional letter. As defined in international standard IEC 60529, it classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures. The standard aims to provide users more detailed information than vague marketing terms such as waterproof.
The digits (characteristic numerals) indicate conformity with the conditions summarized in the tables below. For example, an electrical socket rated IP22 is protected against insertion of fingers and will not be damaged or become unsafe during a specified test in which it is exposed to vertically or nearly vertically dripping water. IP22 or 2X are typical minimum requirements for the design of electrical accessories for indoor use.

Oh my gosh, these things are awesome! Our backyard gazebo used to be completely pitch black, and now it's awesome! I've been looking for solar powered lights for a while to put out there but nothing really had the power to be bright enough. These light that bad boy up like a supernova!

So, I needed some lighting on the side of my house that isn't lit and figured these would work. Some of the reviews said these lights were too small, or not bright. I can tell you that four of them light up the whole side of my house. I mounted them about 10 feet up and there is no issue with the motion detection or the amount of light they produce... They work very well. There is a small on/off button that you need to use a pin tool (included) to turn them on with... The light will flash to let you know it's on... Then they just work as advertised. I did not receive these for free or at a reduced price. If you found my review helpful please indicate so.

The install is pretty straightforward. It comes with hardware and anchors, but I used my own. I installed one of them, by each door in the backyard, and another one by my trash bins. I like that you can adjust the angle of the unit so that water doesn't pool on top of it. The unit appears to be pretty sturdy, and they are lightweight. The look good in the daytime, and do not detract from the house. They are pretty bright and they stay on for about 35-45 seconds each time they are activated. There are no settings to adjust how long they stay on, and there is no way to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I am very pleased with this product, and will update the review as time goes by.

Wow! This product works great, they are super bright and perfect size. I used all 4 to light up my girls swing set at night and they love it. I will definitely recommend them, i will be purchasing four more to go around my house.

First off, I'm not paid to write this. I'm writing this so others out there shopping for a solar motion lights won't waste as much money as I have on the other type with the curved lighted area.We are renovating a property that is completely off grid in Arizona. We are 100% solar power and have to use energy with prudence. At night, it is VERY dark outside and in parts of the unfinished areas of the house too.We use these lights in strategic areas in the house, along the eaves of the roof and in other places outside. They are awesome! They are very bright and provide ample light for us to see. We take them outside during the day to charge and the lights on these last from dusk, till the next morning. We use them at our primary house in Oklahoma for the patio too. Don't waste your money on the kind with the curved bottom. There are plenty of sellers out there shipping those out.The silicone seal that is supposed to keep rain out has completely deteriorated on all 8 that I purchased. The light only lasts a few hours.Big disappointment!!

I have been looking for a solar set of lights to add around my house where the dark spot were. This kit of 4 lights was the perfect set for me. It didnt take any time to get them ready. I installed one against the eaves of the house by directly using screws to attach the unit back plate to the eaves, that was very very simple. The others were installed against the gutters. For each of the installation I purchased a 12 inch by 2 inch plate with holes and a 4x6" plate with holes, from the lumber department at Home Depot, at a total cost of $2-4 per solar light, and a package of screw/bolts for each solar light.I attached the two plates in a cross fashion with the screws/bolts and nuts and lock washer to be sure the assembly does not begin to loosen up over the years. After attaching the two plates to each other, I attached the solar light to the wide plate with the bolts and the washers, and then anchored them to the eaves or gutters. It took about 45 minutes to assemble all of the parts, and another 55 minutes to attach them to the eaves. I poked each of the lights with the tiny pin that came with each light to turn them on. There is a hole on the light side of the solar light that says on /off, and then attached them to the house. At dark the lights came on with a minor movement in the vicinity. I love to go walk around the house after dark to see how the lights come on instantly. The house is all lit up at night, and we love that. I am going to buy another kit and find more dark spots around the house to install them. A piece of Cake and all is visible. PS: wife loves them especially before taking the puppy out just before time to go to bed.

I live in the So. Cal. desert and since purchasing and installing these lights they have been subjected to temperatures up to 112-degrees for 12 hours of direct sunlight at a time as well as a 2-day rainy thunderstorm and have continued to work flawlessly.Interestingly, I purchased a four pack of the black ones. Within a week or so, possibly as a result of the intensity of sunlight (UV) to which they are subjected, their black finish has oxidized into a very pleasant copper color, which has remained consistent ever since and certainly doesn't seem to have any effect on their performance. I don't mind the new color at all (I've included photos) but I did make the seller aware of the change. They responded quickly to say that they would be bringing the phenomenon up with their supplier. All of that said, I am very pleased with the lights and they have performed well under very tough conditions. The seller was responsive and friendly when I contacted them. Certainly a very good value for the price.

Installation was very easy and all hardware was correct. I installed these 6 feet apart mounted to a wall. The light it gives off is incredible! It transformed a dark area around my pool to look a 4 start resort.
CS
Works great for lighting stairs outside barn and greenhouse in upstate NY. I bent the mounting bracket to point the light and solar panels in optimal directions. Easy and has been super reliable despite our relative lack of sun.

Quoting Wendy Williams "the killer is not going to get you" this light are great to lit up your entrance, the light pole on the other side of the street has a good history of going out every few months and while off coming to my house at night is like walking into the mouth of a wolf.... (dark and scary) but this light as you can see do a great job, had them now for more than 2 months now and no problem at all.... highly recommended....

Awesome! I have had these installed for about 6 months. We purchased 2 - 4 packs for the purpose of lighting a long, heavily-wooded driveway so the teenagers could walk to the bus stop on dark winter mornings without being in the pitch dark. I was concerned they would not get enough sun to recharge, but no issues at all, they all light up as needed. We screwed them straight into the trees about 8 feet off of the ground, every 15-20 feet, and the kids are very happy! At night as we drive by, all 8 go on as they should. I like that they only go on with motion to conserve the charge. Honestly, they might get 1 hour of "direct" sun a day - if that - and work fine. We have never cleared snow or ice off of them (another concern), but no problem. Plan to order more for a few other areas of the yard. Overall very pleased.

These are very bright and work very well lighting our garden path as needed. I mounted them on the fence post tops providing motion activated illumination when needed. Well made and easy to install. TomCare's customer service is excellent, I mentioned in an earlier review that one light of the 4 didn't work but I wasn't going to bother to return it and that I was overall very happy with the lights. Customer service reached out to me the very next day, apologized and immediately shipped me a replacement free of charge. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

These are great little lights. All four of them worked perfectly right out of the box and have continued to work almost 2 months later. They are about the size of my hand, and very lightweight. They also are slightly angled so water doesn't seem to pool on them. Each light came with they "key" to turn it on and two screws for hanging it. I have included a picture of where one is placed and it puts out a good deal of light. They are motion activated so they are off until something moves under it. they light up for about 30 seconds and turn off until activated again. Mine recieve about 5-6 hours of direct sun daily and seem to last all night long even with animals and branches that sometimes activate them. I would definitely buy these again and have suggested them to my family and friends more than once. Great purchase

These lights are absolutely the best they worked perfectly as described I couldn't be happier with them I may buy another set place around the house

Bought these lights and I am happy with them, I placed them to the side of my yard and it really made a difference, The lights activate when we walk by, now I wished they stayed on or dimmed, does make these models dim mode?I'm thinking of swapping them out with ones that go dim and never off.
Jon
these are by far the best lights I have found on a,. I purchased 4 and am going to purchase 4 more. they light up ALL my property. they are so cool they dont light up all at once only when you walk by them do they light up .it looks so expensive having these.. they are PERFECT LIGHTS , for around the pool ,your property , walk ways, or in the yard.. the seller is EXCELLENT... THESE ARE THE BEST ON hands down...

I was looking for something to light up the boat on the lift when I take the boat out at night. After searching for a 120v solution figured I'd give some solar lights a try. These are impressively bright for being solar powered! Will be easy to see the boat to clean it up and put it away at night. Most solar powered lights my neighbors have are dim and dull. These are the brightness of a decent LED flashlight and good spread.Motion sensor is well tuned. They don't kick on every time the boat sways a bit but give it a little push or walk close to it and they kick on.I removed a star because the screws provided were junk. Went out to Home Depot to get some actual screws. Also, would be nice if a template was included. Just a small paper template to drill through. Perfectly lining up 2 holes is not the easiest job unless you want to spend hours mounting 4 lights. Also star removed because they have a light sensor to not kick on during the day but no option to have it only go by light instead of motion. That's my fault for missing that fine print though so I will keep it at 4 stars.Overall very pleased with the lights and considering buying again to illuminate more of the back yard.

I like these lights thay are nice and bright I've had them since October 2015 i took two of them down and notice the solar panel are curling up as you can see in the pictures they are still working though ,I place the bead of silicone around them to keep water out hopefully they will continue to work.

I was initially disappointed when I received the lights coz they were tuny. I didn't really read the dimensions. And so when I installed them and have that bright light, I was very much impressed. This exceeded my expectations. I've only had it for a week or so, so I really can't comment on the longevity yet.

I received these Friday (LOVE Prime Free 2-Day Shipping), installed Saturday. I am very pleased with this purchase I installed these units above my steps as you can see by the picture they do a great job, since they are motion activated even when I pull my car into the driveway one of the motion sensors will trigger. I will be purchasing more of these, they are brighter than I hoped for
CJ Salvi
Seem to work well and definitely provides easy lighting for my porch area and around the house.I wish they had a little further range on motion sensing. You have to get pretty close to trigger it which means my walkway that's 10ft from the house is too far to trigger it in that location. I hoped the one on our front door would trigger before you have to take a few steps down, but it triggers pretty much right before you reach the door. Works better coming out of the door to see where you're going. My main complaint is that if these are mounted securely on a vertical surface they angle back towards the base which isn't idea for solar charging. The only way to correct for that is to use screws to mount it and leave the screws out further so the unit angles down. We'll see if it's enough for charging on a south wall a few feet below the overhang on our roof. I thought about mounting them on the gutters for better charging and maybe motion range, but we get too much snow and ice in the winter, they wouldn't last up there. Time will tell how they perform. I just installed them yesterday. For the price, if they last a couple years I'll be happy.I think these would be great for my chicken coop to help scare night time predators away.
Shawn_P
Great bright motion lights. The only thing that I will say is the included screws to mount the lights are horrible quality and the heads on the screws snapped, so use other screws, or buy some and you'll be fine. The light is motion sensitive and lights up from a pretty good distance. So far the charge is holding and has been for almost two weeks. I would definitely recommend the lights. Also, there is only one setting motion and they automatically activate when it's dark outside and stay in for around 30 seconds.

When the seller first contacted me to make sure I received the package, the item wasn't due to arrive for another couple of days so I did not respond until now. The light is small but powerful and you need to let it charge before turning them on. They work as described and we have them installed by our kids swingset so they can play at night and along our driveway where we park which is nice when we get home at night because when we pull in, they light up making it easier to see. I would definitely recommend these. (As far as security goes, hopefully we won't have to worry about that but we've had recent vehicle burglaries in town so if someone were to attempt that, the lights would turn on when they approach our vehicle so that makes us feel a lot better at night).
Loral R. Johnson
Put one above the doors on my shed, and one on a post above our trash cans. So convenient to go either place and have plenty of light at night. Sensor picks up a nice distance. I have 2 left that I haven't put up yet, and that is only because I'm trying to find a deserving location. Since I'm being stingy with them, I'm probably going to have to order more so I have plenty. The only thing I wish was included would have been a mounting template. You really have to have the screws lined up in order to mount. What I found a big help on the second light I put up was to take a piece of paper and a pencil, rub the pencil over the paper placed over the screw mounting holes. Then hold this homemade template up where you want to place the light, drill your pilot holes and mount. Having one come with the lights would have been a plus.

I bought some really good, wide velcro, I attached the un-fuzzy side to just above the door on our Travel trailer and the fuzzy side to solar light. I remove it when towing the trailer and store it in cupboard, it works every time even if it has been months since using it. (I use the pin to turn it off before storing, I had to use a sewing needle last time because I had lost the little pin/key that it comes with). The ones I use at home charge and stay charged so well! I put one under the roof eve above the back door and it faces north, I have never had a problem with it staying charged and works perfectly. It is very bright and shines a good 10 feet fan of light at least. I love the motion sensor part the best. I even mounted one on an aluminum pole further down the driveway so when I get out of the truck it lights up until I get to the door and trigger the front door light. (We don't have a porch or overhang above front door yet.) I keep thinking of new ways to use these lights!

These little lights are great! All of them work as advertised. I've had them up for several months now... I wanted to wait to do the review, just to see if they weathered well. So far, they're doing fine through the rainy season and into the "bake" that is Texas summer! They are lightweight and easy to install anywhere. I have one on a tree with very short screws to keep from damaging the tree and it's holding fine. One is just clipped to the edge of a back porch awning with a strong utility clip. That way, it can shine on the back door most of the time (so I can see to get the back door key in the lock) or I can take it down and use it as a flashlight as I go into the garden at night to check things out! Plenty bright for anything you need to see and they charge well, even when we've had no real sun for a week. The one I use as a portable, I even brought in one night when we were expecting really rough weather; in case the lights went out, I wanted to have something to maneuver around the house with that was better than a candle or small flashlight. I'm thinking about ordering another set as I'd like to have even more lights along the path in the back yard.

I live in the country where there is no Lighting on my street I have a lot of neighborhood kids that like to walk through my yard these things keep them out of my yard they liked the pass to my driveway for my wife because she leaves to work early of a morning most of the things that I purchased off of are crap but these little lights are very bright I ordered the first set and now I'm expecting delivery on two more sets today do not doubt these little lights they work very well and fast shipping within 4 to 6 business days they are amazing and I plan on ordering get a lot more for my house and my family too!!! Thanks for making a great product!??

These motion lights are the bomb! I use them by the gates on the property where no electricity is available.PROS:Easy to installBrightMotion sensors work greatLights up for safety when walking or driving byThey put out a surprising amount of light, obviously, the higher up they are mounted more area is lit upGreat priceSturdy, well madeNo dials, or settings, so simple!CONS:None that I can find. These lights worked great right out of the box. With only a few hours of sunlight, they worked like a charm.I highly recommend and would buy again.

Just received yesterday. To my surprise was the size. I thought they would be bigger but they are pretty much hand size. I really like the way they are constructed. They look like they will last for years and also they are super bright that is a plus. There is a little key that comes with it to turn them on. There is no on/off button. These lights have a motion detector in front. They charge during the day then at night when it senses motion they turn on. they will turn of 10 seconds later if no motion is detected to save power. I sure will buy them again. AAAAA+++++++++++
orson corson
Awesome motion sensor lights. They come on very bright and stay on long enough to open the door. Then they shut off. I noticed it says there is a dim mode. I have to figure this option out. Right now it's on and off.

I already had a few of the outward-facing Baxia pyramid-style lights and love those. I figured I'd try these out but found them awkward to mount at first. I put one up on my deck because the Baxia annoyed me at eye-level. This shines down but still gives good illumination. They don't stay up with tape, even 3M tape, because of the cantilever design. It doesn't have through-holes for screws so you have to measure out where the screws go. They are 2-inches on-center, but setting the proper height and centering the screws within the post surface took some trickery. Then I figured out a trick (though I have yet to actually use it): I folded a business card around the edges of the back mounting surface, punched the card where the mounting holes are with a pen, then marked a line at the folds. Instant template. For the next one I can just set the template against the desired mounting surface, mark the hole locations with a Sharpie, drive the screws, and hang the light. I'll update later once I do it.Would be a nice idea if would include a pre-punched template with each light, or perhaps a static peel-off sticker on the back.

These are great, really nice and bright light output. Will be buying a few more packs to finish adding them around the house. Kiss that high energy bill goodbye. At first the sensors were a bit off....but this was right out of the box. They came with some power charged in them...but once they got a days worth of solar light all the sensors worked perfectly. So don't let that make you think they are junk. They need one full day to charge and they will work great.

These lights work well, as long as you position them where the sun hits the panels for at least six hours out of the day. On the plus side if the power goes out you can bring them inside for emergency lighting. As with any other solar yard light in this category you can expect one or two seasons from them on an average. I have some that are on their fourth year, this order was to replace some of the older ones and some that have started going bad. Here is a tip: sometimes the placement of the light is such that they don't receive a full charge from the sun, we have a routine where early in the morning we will set those that are in shadow areas in the sun and put them back in the afternoon. While this might be a little aggravating to have to do it insures we have working lights all the way around the deck area even in those spots that only receive brief sun light.

I am reviewing these after owning them for 4 weeks. I have mounted 6 of these throughout my home and I highly recommend them.It takes two small screws in the back to mount these guys. Similar to hanging a wall frame. The mounting screws are included in the package. The lumens of these are excellent. They're not too bright, but bright enough to light up a path or a doorway, etc. I used this over my home's back door since I use it a lot to enter the house. Its sensor works I'd guess to about 15 feet away, which is good, cause I dont want this lighting up for random things 30 feet away. The lights stay on for 30 seconds and then turn off again. These are a pretty white color housing and made of an aluminum casing. I hope to get 3 years out of these bulbs!1: Lumens: Id' guess about 200LM2: Temp: 6500K (definitely has a touch of blue light)3: About the size of your hand. I'd guess its about 6"x5"4: DOES NOT NEED DIRECT SUNLIGHT TO WORK! It only needs to be in a sunny area to receive photons. Remember, HEAT does not charge these guys, only light does. So just having it outdoors is normally good enough. One of my lights is installed under a patio cover. It probably gets direct sunlight for 1-2 hours of the day max. The rest of the day it's in a "shady" area, that is still well lit by the sun. After 3 weeks of owning these, that light is still working well and lighting up.

First off, this is a real review. I have included pics of the solar lights I got. They are white on the bottom, with a silver metal piece on top where the solar panel is. They are pretty easy to mount, although i had to upgrade the included cheapo screws, to some stainless ones I already had, because the first one of the original screws I tried, stripped the threads trying to screw it into the metal carport surface. I took a piece of the cardboard box, and a sharpie, and made a template. Marked the holes, drilled them, added the screws, used the included key to turn them on, and slipped the light over the screws, making sure the lights fit tight. I did not charge them two days first, as recommended on the instructions. They were smaller than I thought they would be, but very bright. I mounted one over the basement door, One over the shed door, and one on each end of a metal carport at my dads. We both thought they were nice and bright. If you wanted more light, you could mount two of them together, but we were happy. They do need to be mounted where the sun can shine on them all day, because they are charged by the sun. My dad liked them so much, he wants to get some to mount on his house. Time will tell how they hold up in the weather, etc.

Seem really useful and has a nice broad spread of light. Pointing the light down like these do seems to alleviate glare experienced in the other angled designs. I'm not 100% sold in the longevity nor the sensitivity of the motion detector. As time goes by I may adjust the score and give an update. I think a less bright constant light setting would be nice if it were included in this model. I'm very pleased nonetheless.UPDATED to say: these work really really really really *that is four reallys* well. The batteries seem more than able to handle cloudy weeks in the dead of winter and still work well throughout the night. That is impressive to me having mixed results with other designs.

I got this solar for my patio, I have installed this so easy, with screws accompaniment. My previous solar lasted 9-12 months, hoping this will last longer than my previous ones. The design is made from durable stainless steel, that surely can withstand extreme temperature, I plan to buy more for my brother that lives in tropical island Philippines. This is really bright for outdoor light, with 20 instead of the older generation of 12-16 LED lights. While the price came very economical & reasonable for this set of 4 pieces. Downside with this product is that this doesn't stay dim the whole night & sensor to bright when motion is detected, instead on brightly as long as motion is around. I will prefer if it stay on most of the night to deter burglars as well. When I purchased this it is described as no dim, so don't even expect to light your backyard at night & stay on. Battery has no option for replacement, even this is solar powered there must be a battery to store the energy as solar charges. Otherwise, for the amount & brightness this product is highly recommended for door lights as such, while you open the door you'll have light for about 30-45 sec or while motion is detected.

We are going to be taking a road trip (van life). We purchased 2 sets of these and placed them on all sides of the roof rack of the van. They work great. I feel safe walking outside at night, with the bright lights that come on with the motion sensor. We liked these so much we bought the second set for our rv. We used magnets to place on the van and rv. They can be easily moved around that way. I would highly recommend these to everyone. Thanks for a great safety product.

I bought these for $31.99 ($8 each). These are bright and send light in all four directions. I have 1 on eve in front of front door and when you walk up it lights up to the door so can see your keys. when you step in the dark it comes on so you see all the way to the street. I go to work early sometimes and I would turn on the outside light and when I came home it would still be on, no one would remember to turn it off. My step son painted them to match the eves of the house and they look good. They do stick out though. I put 2 of them on the side of the garage and they light up the whole side yard.I also purchased a 62 led solar motion light by Finy $23.99. It is very bright which is great for grilling outside, which is why I bought it. It throws the light out from the eve so if you stand behind the eve you would be in the dark. I like it because it attaches flat on the eve almost unnoticed until it comes on. It lights up almost the same area that a light does. The FINY light is brighter on the grill but the lights up the back door.I also purchased a Vivii 30 led solar motion light $11.99. Works good fits up against the eve and looks good. Throws the light out over a good area but remains dark under the eve.The Finy 62 led is stronger.Finy and Vivii have 3 settings 1 motion 2 low light and bright motion 3 bright all the time. I have only used #1.Booth fit snug against the eve almost unnoticeable. The light are less expensive. Only one setting, motion detection. The one mounted at bottom of eve lights up front door, you can find keys or see who is there. Light comes on when you open door. Bracket can be bent to change lighting pattern and painted.

These little lights give off a great amount of light and they do a very good job of sensing movement. I have one on the arbor over my front sidewalk to light up the walk if someone enters my yard. It also lights up when someone steps off of the porch and onto the sidewalk. This light receives sunlight all day long, (when the sunlight is shining and it is not cloudy out.) A second light I put on the south east gutter of my garage to light up a portion of the back yard. It was easy to attach directly to the gutter. This light also receives sunlight most of the day, I would say about 7 or 8 hours. At $5 each ($19.99 for 4,) they were well worth the money! I would recommend these lights for ease of installation, amount of lighting given off, and the quality of sensor picking up movement. Keep in mind they are solar lights that need sunlight to give the best performance. They have been up a couple of weeks so I am hoping that I get a good life span out of them.

Have been doing some outside work with our deck and such things and have only put one light up so far and I am very pleased! It is fall here and that means not very sunny days, however this light has already has a very bright light at night and comes on every time my dogs or anything passes by it! It lights up my steps to get up my deck just they way I would want! Can't wait to put the other 3 up which the first one was very easy to do and only took 1 day to work! Update to my review: well we have went from a very wet fall right into snow and that means no sun! So I quess I can complain about something that is powered by sun but I did have another brand of solar lights that actually held up through are winter, I am still going to leave up seems how I got them up late in fall so they did not receive a lot of sun to charge and hopefully we will get some sunny days every now and then! Be back with results!

I bought a set of four last year. Installed the lights in full sun with no protection from rain or wind. The lights work great. The lights are bright and work great as security lights. This current design is a little different from my original purchase. The bracket to secure the light to the wall is hidden so you have to pre-install the screws before you can hang the light. No template is provided to aid the install. In my opinion the old bracket was much easier to work with. Even with this design flaw I would by them again.

These lights are working perfectly around the pool. The motion sensors are sensitive enough to pick up the dog when she runs by and the light output is plenty bright enough to safely walk around and avoid any left out toys at night. We have had a few heavy rain showers and thus far they have maintained a proper working condition. I will buy more!!!Update. These lights have been through a lot of rain storms and are working bright as new and the sensors are working perfectly!!!!2nd update 6+ monthsAll four have been installed and in Texas weather, including hurricane and are still performing (Responsive motion and Bright) as new. Ordering more now!

I have been looking for solar LED lighting for a very long time. When I found these 16 (yes 16) outdoor solar lights for under $40, how could I refuse? I couldn't. They arrived efficiently packaged from the manufacturer and then overly packaged (as usual) from . I had the package open and the lights sitting in the sun in less than a minute. Yes....I put them in the sun for 2 days without turning them on...:) The instructions said to let them charge up and thats what I did. I've installed one just outside the door where the dogs like to go out at night and it lights an area about 30 feet wide - 15 feet to each side of the light. This light is not in direct sunlight until after 3pm and after dark it gets constant use from the pets and people that live here. I plan to install the rest this weekend and I'm ordering another 4 pack today. This product far exceeded my expectations and if the light ever stops working I'll be back to report the death of a bright light.....

The outdoor solar lights work great. The LEDs are bright as described and the solar panels charge even on the cloudy days. When i received the lights in the mail i was expecting them to be larger and on comparison to the listing i noticed that there is no real way of identifying how large they are by looking at the sales page. All of the descriptions of these lights to me make them seem at least 12"x12" when in reality they are about 5"x6". The units come in great packaging from the factory, a protective plastic film covers the solar panel so that it is not scratched in travel. I recommend these for outside of doorways so they illuminate the entrance as you approach. Not the best solution if you are trying to illuminate a parking lot or driveway.

Enticed by the sale price, I ordered a set of these, and have since ordered two more sets. They are great for any dark area that you might find yourself walking through. Our fixed lights don't extend to our driveway very well, so we put a couple on the front of the garage, then along the paths to our trash can, storage building, and compost pile. It's kind of fun to walk along and see them light up! It feels much safer than a flashlight. And we no longer feel like we need to leave our outdoor lights on all night long, as these will just come on when we need them. We did realize we placed one in an area that causes it to come on frequently - it is above some ornamental grass that blows in the wind. It's not a problem, but I would think it might wear out sooner? We'll see. Very happy, and highly recommend.

Would have been 5 but a little smaller than I imagined. Need to start paying attention to dimensions. But dont let that fool you. The best part about these is they are not overpowering. I live in an old neigborhood that has houses in close proximity. Nothing worse than dealing with a neighbors motion lights going off everytime a leaf blows by and.....BOOM here comes the sun. Gives off just enough light to see around your imediate area without lighting up half the block. And the sensor is not overly sensitive. It detects human movement no problem but little things dont set it off every couple of minutes either. So for what I was looking for these for they fit the bill 1000%. Very very happy with this purchase. Got 1 on the man door of garage 1 above the garage door in the alley, and giving 1 to a friend in need. Keeping the 4th as a spare or to give away to someone else needing just enough light. So happy I took a chance getting these.

i got this 4-pack for $25 prime (lightning deal), which is a great deal to me. If i didn't have so many trees in my yard, especially in my front yard, i would order another 4 or even 8 of these.attached picture was taken at 8pm, 11/18/17. so it was full on dark. these two lights give an amazing amount of illumination, even though it was overcast all day today. My only gripe would be that the motion detector sensor doesn't have a huge field, so you have to get fairly close to set them off--but the description did say it had a 3 meter (~9 feet) activation zone.i also made sure that the lights were installed leaning on 2 axes (left to right AND front to back) to discourage moisture sitting on top of the solar panel.

These solar lights are really good ones, and actually our favorites, as we have a few others (differents). We love the brightness and the fact that we do not need to turn them on and off, as the motion sensors take care of that. At the beginning we did not like the fact that they stay on for so few seconds (about 20), but lately we understood that the charge would last less if staying on longer, when actually not needed. So, we think that that is a very good balance between resources and functionality. We actually used them in a little different way as intended; we used one for our master bathroom, another for the aisle after the master bedroom, another for the kitchen, and the last one (replaced very quickly as it came defective) for the aisle before the kitchen. We used them inside the house because we were outaged after hurricane Maria hit us in Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017. We take them outside daily ( occasionally we miss some days, but they hold charge pretty well, so not a big deal), and take them back before night; they are not actually installed, they are 'just placed strategically'.We got power again after 71 days outaged, but we are still using them inside (why not, if they work for free?). We think they will also work great outside when finally installed.Highly recommended; they are good, they are cheap, they are bright, they are Really Great, and customer service is top class; so go for them worry free.

These lights are perfect! They only stay for approx 20secs are the motion sensor activates which is great as it helps them retain their power til the morning...i did follow the enclosed instructions and charged them in the sun for 2 full days prior to my 1st use. Its only been about 2 weeks but so far so good! They are very bright and the sensor awesome not too sensitive, just enough! I have one installed on each panels of my duck pen so we can see if any predators are near her pen, i was sceptical given the low price for a 4pack and being they were supposedly bright...but the specs given are accurate and they were well worth the money. My husband already asked me to order a few more sets for other areas in our barn, silo and areas aroubd the property where we don't have or want to run power...oh and thwy have stayed fully charged until morning every single nite, even on cloudy days. Follow the insteuctions and you won't go wrong! Great lights! Great seller..fast delivery, nothing broken and even emailed to be sure i was satisfied with my purchase and that nothing was broken during shipment(it wasnt)...i recently purchased a $470 laptop on and the seller didn't even email to be sure ok!

We purchased these to put around the house to deter crime. They're very sensitive to motion, so a mosquito will set them off, which is good! Also a person doesn't have to be right underneath them -- just walking in the vicinity of the lights makes them to go on. They're also extremely bright and cast light all around and not just directly underneath. We put them on the eves of the house and did have a little trouble with that, as the screws wouldn't go into the wood. Used different screws and still had to wrestle with getting the screw heads into the holes on the light, but eventually it worked. Other than that, they were easy to put up. Don't forget to use the little key to turn the solar on before you hang them. Would definitely recommend.

I am so pleased with these lights ! They give surprising bright light , discreet easy to install - I just got them installed today and it was a grey day plus the seller says to have them in the sun for 2 days before using but they already give plenty enough light - I got these lights for lighting my path from my garage to my entrance door - I have steps as my house is on pier and beams I got a packet of 4 lights and that works just fine ! I may buy another packet just to add a touch of class at night to my home - I think that these lights look great for such a low investment - I hope that they will last but considering their price and the easy installation I have no doubt that this is a good buy !

The reason I gave this product 4-stars instead of 5 was that you can't replace the rechargeable battery when it wears out and the Specifications on the slip of paper that came with it says the product life is more than one year. What does that mean? More than one year could mean 12 months and one day or twenty years. And it didn't impress me that they only guarantee the product for three months from the date of purchase. Other than those two facts, the product arrived on time and was easy to install. The directions said to let the battery charge for two full days before activating the light. On the third day, I activated the lights and waited until it was dark to test them and they all worked as described. I bought eight of these and walked along my back fence activating all eight. By the time reached #8 the first lights were cycling off. With all 8 on, the backyard was bright.

These lights work great! I used them all down the outside run of my chicken coop for extra light, and I love them. They are motion activated, so I have to believe they will help to deter predators when they walk by and these come on! Plus, you get 4 for $25 instead of 2 for $20 on the predator lights that blink red all night. They are very bright and easy to install. Have had to brush snow off of them, but other than that no maintenance. I will be buying more for my duck pen. Highly recommend!

I ordered a pack of 4 lights. All 4 work, and I am pleased with the construction, light output, sensitivity, and ease of mounting. The instructions are pretty much a waste of paper. Put them in the sun for a few hours to charge them up, then cover the solar panel (fools the light into thinking it is night) and wave your hand in front of the white round sensor to see if it causes the light to turn on. No?... then use the included wire tool and push it through the hole next to the round white sensor. Test it again. After some trial and error these should light up when they are charged, the solar panel is covered, and the round white sensor sees movement. Once they activate, they are only on for 20 seconds...wish it was 45 seconds or more.I will probably order another 4-pack. They are not perfect, but so far are working reliably, and a good value.

I have installed eight of these solar lights around our brick ranch house. Our main door is on south side, so the solar panels receive full sunlight. Patio and deck are on north side. I have used pre-treated 2x1's either to extend out or raise up the solar lights, where they were needed, to ensure they receive maximum possible sunlight. The lights have been already tested in some continuous rain. So far they have worked fine, since I have installed more than two weeks back. Only suggestion I have is to make sure that the lights are turned on by pushing the pin inside the hole, as per the instruction, before placing them in the final position.

Purchased these 3 times, one box at a time. Which is to say, the 1st box worked well around garbage bins - much easier then hard-wiring a motion activated light.I used an outdoor rated double-sided adhesive tape to stick 3 of them to the aluminum gutter about 4 feet apart. It would be nicer if the light was a little warmer. But it's not harsh or bluish. I really don't need blazing white lights at nite, and these are not. They are white but not harsh. One more suggestion - To put them on the stucco wall without drilling I cut a short piece of 2x1 furring strip and screwed the provided screws into that, then glued the wood to stucco and only mounted the lights when the glue set. The wood pieces weigh nothing and stayed in place when attached with construction adhesive.

We have had these attached to the posts of our 6 1/2 foot cedar fence in our back yard for 6 months now. all of them still work, and they are just as bright as when they were new. A couple of them are located under tree branches and don't get a lot of direct sunlight, but they still work reliably. We leave our back window blinds up all the time, so when we are watching TV at night and we see one of the lights pop on, we jump up and peer out the window. It is usually an opossum. I tested them when I first installed them by rolling various-sized balls at them at night. A tennis ball will not set it off, but a child's rubber ball about 8" diameter did. Our yard is rather large and we only have four lights, so I'm thinking about getting more. So far they have stood the test of time, including a few ~20 degree days last winter.

This is one of my best purchases. (And I've bought a lot!)Solar lights have gotten better with time. They used to be dim at best, and finicky to turn on when needed. This four set of solar, motion lights are perfect. Easy to install, hardware is included. Just measure for the two screws, screw them into wood (plastic anchors are included too), and hang the light. There's an on/off switch that you have to poke with a rigid pin. Guess what? it's included too! After installing the light, poke the pin into the hole until you hear a click. The lights will flash, and you are done. You get 4 lights, 8 screws, 8 anchors, 4 switch pins.

I had installed two of the four, and they have been working perfectly under rain, snow, and a very cold NY winter we had last season. The light coverage is excellent. One of them will light up an area of 20x20 to a point where someone can easily walk and see any possible obstacles. They stay on for as long as someone is moving in the coverage area. Mine get a few hours of light/sun during the day, and I have never had one of run out of power. These are very good lights. I had the other two sitting in window sills for several months, and they were turned off. I went to install them yesterday, and one of them is dead.Update: Seller replaced the faulty light with new ones without any issues. This is an excellent customer service and support.I will make sure I check this seller for items I need in the future, before I buy from any other seller. It is nice to have this kind of support behind a product.

These work really well, especially in locations where there isn't a huge amount of traffic (battery life could be a factor at some point). I have one of them over a back door that gets no direct sun all winter, and I only had one time where it ran out of battery, which was during a snowstorm when it was illuminated constantly due to me clearing snow in that area for an hour or two. It has never died since. The other light reflecting in is enough to keep it running. Also, these are very easy to mount and un-mount once the screws are placed, so if you have an area where they can't be charged sufficiently but you don't want to resort to battery-powered ones, get a spare and leave it in the sun then swap them out when one runs down.So far I'm at 6 months -- we''ll see how long they last.

I needed additional lighting on the back of my property as a predator deterrent near my chicken coop. I considered this an inexpensive, throw-away solution. When they arrived I thought they were rather small. Installation literally could not be easier (unless the lights screwed themselves in), Put up two screws and hang the light. I followed the instructions and left them in direct sunlight for two days to fully charge the batteries. When I went to check them the first time I found that the motion sensor was more than adequate. I do wish they stayed on a little longer but understand this may diminish the overall brightness after some use. Again, for the price, these lights are perfect. If they last a full year I will consider them an excellent purchase. I am already considering purchasing another set.

This product actually delivers what it promises!!!! They are great little lights that are very responsive to motion. Just what I was looking for for the patio and trash can areas. They give a sufficient amount of light - not quite as much as my old floodlight, but definitely enough to light the area well. I placed two in my patio area and they light up quite a good sized area. The amount of time they stay on is great too - just enough. PS - the directions provided are a bit conflicting - but I just peeled off the film over the solar panel, used the pin to push the ON button, it lit up and flashed; I then used some 3M mounting tape and installed the light and it was ready to go - it came charged up and has been going strong since. I live in sunny Florida - but even the one light that is in a shaded area is doing great.

Have put these lights around the outside of our house to light up "dark" corners so we don't walk up on a skunk or other animal that makes its way into our yard. They work great and turns on from a good distance but some do not. I suspect a couple don't detect motion until you're really up close because we didn't install them at an angle. But at least one is at an angle and I have to be really close to it before it acknowledges me. I'm still very happy with them because they do the job we bought them for. We followed the directions the company provided and didn't have any issues.

All of these lights for my job however once they arrive I realized these are little powerful devices really bright perfect for outdoor activity anything that has the security as far as motion is concerned I will be ordering at least two or three more sets for my house. These little lights are perfect and really bright I really enjoy it I didn't think that by being as small as it was that it was going to produce the quality that I was expecting it proved me wrong this little device is perfect.I very seldom get 5 stars but I'm going to have to give this one a Five Star Plus.

I bought these and, shortly after, my son got me three motion-activated lights from Open Trails. These are much brighter than the Open Trails lights and they detect motion from much further away. The slim design also makes it so that they're not very noticeable on the house during the day. It comes with a pin to turn them on, so the on/off function is not that accessible. The one way that the Open Trails lights excels is that they're on all the time after dark and get brighter when you cross their path. I live in the woods where it's very dark if the moon isn't out so this is a nice path-finding function, but the brightness and distance of motion detection in these lights still make them far more functional for my needs.

Work great a d great service. Have had these for 4 months now. Very happy with their performance. We moved to a small town in the country from the city and it is dark at night without all the city lights. Use these to light up the deck and they work great. About a week ago one of the lights suddenly stopped working. I contacted the seller and they said they would send a new battery, which I was happy with. Then, the next day I received an email saying they were sending a new complete light. Very happy with fast service and more than pleased with the response.

These lights are amazing! We have an East/West facing home, so my expectations about sun exposure and charging was a bit low but wanted to try them anyway considering the price. I installed two of the lights on the East side about mid-morning and turned them on not expecting much of a result. I went outside after dark and both popped on immediately and we're much brighter than I anticipated! The next night (after charging for a full day), I again went out to test them and wow I was amazed at the amount of light they put out! Only two lights lit nearly our entire back yard! Very pleased with my purchase and could easily be used for security lighting! I've told many friends about these and would gladly recommend to anyone! Solid 5 star rating for sure!!
Bob Stallings
These lights are useful for security purposes because they only turn on when motion is detected. Their motion-detection range is limited to about 7-9 feet laterally, so for complete coverage they should be installed no more than about 14 feet apart. I installed 18 of these lights around the perimeter of my house three weeks ago, and I'm very pleased with them so far. They're very light-weight and therefore can be mounted with sheet metal screws directly to the lip of aluminum gutters. They work well in rain and in freezing temperatures. They charge well even on cloudy and rainy days, and the ones on the north side of my house charge adequately despite little or no direct sunlight.

I've tried quite a few of those cheap black outdoor solar lights, and I've always been disappointed for various reasons: terrible quality (they would stop working after a month or so), not as bright as expected or described, and ugly. So one day, while perusing a deals forum, I saw someone was recommending these lights, and decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did: they look quite nice, they're really bright (they illuminate up to 15 feet away) and they feel sturdier than many others. I used 3M 4011 Exterior Mounting Tape to install them on my vinyl siding, and they've been working for a couple of months already. We'll see how they do after a cold snowy winter.

1 of 4 not working after 2 months. No way to tell with hidden push button switch whether light is on or off if it has discharged. Be sure you are using them right away, batteries may discharge/go bad unless charged and used. Vendor promptly replaced the defective light, so taking into account the very responsive support I have adjusted my rating.

Ordered these for usage on the outside of a tiny house I am building in a remote wooded area in ny.these should provide lighting at night for both personal saftey while outdoors and turn on to dissuade unwelcome others from causeing damage when I not on location. Will update with pictures when installed on site.Well installed late in evening .work perfect.attached one to a tree 30 ' from door of tiny house.as soon as opening the door light turned on .2 of these able to sufficiently light area where you could walk around outside and not trip or stumble or sticks or rocks..keep in mind is in a wooded area and very little ambient light at night.I was so impressed that I ordered another set to light up more of area and as bonus they work inside as well able to charge from window light during day. Thank for this product.

One of the three lights does not work. The other three are very nice, work well and give off a nice light- not floodlight if that is what you want- but good enough to navigate a dark back yard as they come on as you walk near them. Am not sure about how to get just one replaced and don't feel like taking all of them down to ship back just because of the bad one.Update: I contacted the seller and the company has top notch customer service. Got an immediate reply with suggestions for troubleshooting. When that didn't work they sent me a new one to replace the faulty one. I didn't need to send all of them back. Good product. Excellent customer service.

i purchased these a few months back and overtime, the glass piece that is over the solar pannel has lifted up, water has gotten inside and do not work as well. i feel like i should have caulked the glass part onto the metal part to protect it from weather but didnt. i love the color of the lights very bright but sadly craftsmanship isnt as well. Water sits on top of it, i've have to bend them back just so water will drain away from the solar panelupdate: bumping up rating due to excellent customer service. Seller sent new set of lights at no cost.

Wow. These lights are spectacular! I love how bright they are. A few hours of sun let's these work on sensor mode, all night. I have these on the front of my covered porch where not much sun shines during the day. It is mostly shade, yet these still work wonderfully.

Pleasantly surprised at light function. Decent amount of lumens. Stays on for brief period. Restarts easily if necessary. Mounted on single story facia it provides enough light wash mud off shoes. Not obnoxious to neighbors. Will update as to longevity.Update: Been a month now (approx- 8/13/17) light still working perfectly and family all enjoys them!Update: 11/27. Still working perfect! Adds awesome convenience to dark areas. Going to add more....

The order arrived on time and in perfect condition. The lights are being used in the Serra Nevada foothills where there are no city lights. They are most helpful on night with a new (aka NO) moon. One light is used in an area that is about 15'x15' and we are happy with the amount of illumination it gives off. We have yet to install the last one on power pole located on a dirt road.

I LOVE these things! I was skeptical about these being a good quality product. I don't trust a lot of online electronic purchases but I needed a good motion activated light for my back porch. I took a chance and these are awesome! Well built, easy to install, and they work like a dream. Good amount of light too and because they're motion activated, the battery charge lasts forever. I will definitely order these again and again. A+

These solar lights are superb. The led's are bright (not cheap white) state of the art. The batterys are lithium-ion 3.7volt. The solar panel side does not have exposed edges where water can enter. They all were partially charged and in working order when I unpacked them. They are built on a durable plastic base reinforced with an angled aluminum frame. I mounted them on the edge of the gutters using 3M outdoor double sided tape available on for about $5 for a 60" roll. It works perfect! You will love the way these work. Put one every 6 or seven feet on your gutters on the sunny sides of your building. These are the best for the price!

I have a trailer parked beside the house that has no lights around it outside at night. These lights worked great for placing along the top rail of a fence to provide some light walking outside to prevent injury. I installed them and they worked so well I bought more for the dog run and parking areas. Great items at a reasonable price. Only time wil tell how they hold up outside24/7. They are mounted to the top rail of a 6 foot privacy fence and turn on as you approach them perhaps 5 or 6 feet away. They are mounted about 6 feet apart and are perfect in this application for providing light to prevent injury. They only stay on for about a minute after they are triggered. Perfect.

These are nice looking outdoor solar lights. They are bright enough for their size and very easy to install. When I received them I thought they were a bit small but overall they do what they are supposed to do. They light up the area nicely without disturbing adjacent neighbors. They look very sturdy and durable for their size. Good buy to complement your home with solar lights.

I purchased these for the side of my house so I can see to clean up after our dogs. So far I like them. I don't have to hold a flashlight anymore! The dogs activate the sensor so the lights are on by the time I walk around the corner. They are still just as bright in the morning as they are in the evening because they only stay on as needed. If no motion is detected they turn off automatically. I plan to purchase more for the rest of our yard.I've had these almost a year now and they are working well. I wish they would stay on about a 1-2 minutes instead of about 15-20 seconds. My dog can be doing their business right under one and they will turn off because of no motion. If they stayed on longer I would give them a five star.

Work well....two years later and they have lasted through harsh Chicago winters and summer storms.I put one light over our shed and others in spots where lighting was needed but electricity is an obstacle. The motion sensor light works well, and it provides a sufficient amount of light. One unit seemed dead, but eventually started working.I'm pleased because of the low price and durability.

First let me start by saying I was one of the skeptical one first let me start by saying I was one of the skeptical ones.I got these and I was worried they weren't going to work but I did with the instruction said give it two full days of charge then I use them and I couldn't be more happier, they were a little smaller than I expected, but they put off enough light for exactly what I need and I'm ordering another four more to finish my house. Great find I got these and I was worried they weren't going to work but I did with the instruction said give it to full days of charge then I use them and I couldn't be more happier, they were a little smaller than I expected, but they put off enough light for exactly what I need and I'm ordering another four more to finish my house. I just got these two days ago and we put them up right away. They are easy to install and the only thing that is kinda tricky is the little pin you use to turn them on. But it's not anything that I would consider a problem. So far they are working great and they give enough light, but it's not blinding. I will be ordering more and mounting them along my fence so that it really lights up all the areas of my yard. For the price these are a good deal. Hopefully they keep working for a couple years.

Purchased one set and I was so happy so I purchased a second set, nice little lights. I mounted them for outdoor double face tape to avoid holes on my vinyl siding. The lights are bright and go off rather quickly if there is no motion.

These were just what I needed! I live in Costa Rica. We have lots of sunshine and quite a few power outages. I wanted lights that would work outside whether I had power or not and also wanted to be able to mount lights in places where I do not have wiring run. These do the trick. They are not large fixtures, (read the specs.) but with 20 led lights per fixture they illuminate well enough for walking along a path, getting out of a car in an otherwise unlit area...I could not be happier with my purchase!

EXACTLY what it says. I live in Ohio, very cold, freezing winters. They have been up through all seasons and back again. Everyone of them work just as good as the day I put them up. I added a couple of them along my garage leading back to the fire pit. They are strategically placed to light when someone is walking back there so we see who it is coming before they can actually see all of us. I will buy more to add to the front area of the home next. Also great for darker areas of the yard where you can't see your pets. Now we see them and they can see to pee ;)

Bought these in a 4 pack for my mothers house. We live on a small street with lots of dark places. I installed these in various places around the eves and she says she feels so much safer. I gently sloped them toward the sun with the side effect of not having rain accumulate and cloud up the panel. No people or animals could approach her back door without several of them lighting up. They are decently bright, definitely worth the price.

Nice solar lights. Clean good looking design. Even without a mounting template (hint hint) the lights installed easily. The pushpin on/off switch is unique and makes sense as it lessens exposure to the elements. If lost a paper clip could do the job as needed but for the most part it's set it on and forget it. PIR switch has good sensitivity and the illuminated area is quite broad mounted up at the fascia of my shed.Time will tell on the charge and life of the batteries but so far so good.

I got these lights to help ward off the raccoons getting into my trash in the middle of the night. I figured the bright leds would scare these rascals when the motion sensor picked up their movement. Turns out the lights just made it easier for them to see my trash better and made the mess even worse. I think I even thought I saw one trying to tan underneath one...So the lights work great, just not for scaring off raccoons.

Lights arrived on time, as promised, and in good condition. I am thrilled with these lights. We've always had a problem unlocking our front door when we arrive after dark. I mounted one of the lights on the porch rail post overlooking the door. As soon as we step onto the porch, the light comes on and lights the porch and door so we can navigate safely and get the door unlocked. LEDs are very bright. Great product!

Love these things. I have them mounted on the side (eve) of the house where we had no light. Opening the gate required a kind of night vision, but these solved the problem. They put out a generous amount of light compared to some of the other lights. Super easy to install, you don't have line any keyholes up like some of the others. Aesthetically pleasing. Very much worth the $$.I will note that these are only on/off type of lights. I have another similar one that stays on dim and get bright when you walk up to it, but these do not. I like my dim one as well, but did not need constant (courtesy) light in this area.

I hadn't put these up yet! Was charging them up when hurricane Irma came in ! We placed them around the house since the power went out they where very handy to have! They are very bright and came on every time we walked into the room! I am sure they will be a wonderful addition to the outside of my pool cage! I really like them and am thinking of ordering more to put up all around the house! Especially where there is a window and a door for extra added security! Love them!

Work great. I put two of these on my front porch stairway (one at top and one at bottom) They activate perfectly and stay on long enough for people to get up and down the stairs at night. The bottom one is under the stair railing a bit, and I was worried it would not get enough sun to charge, but it works great. They did oxidize to the copper color that is in some of the other reviews, but that matches the stain on my deck perfectly so I don't mind it at all. Install was easy and I used the screws provided.

These solar lights are great! We already purchased some two years ago to place on the edge of the roof for overall motion activated light around the outside of the house. This time bought a few boxes for the same motion activation lighting lower to the ground, love how they turned out mounted on posts. See pictures.

I like these light versus the option of not having any, but they aren't as powerful as the set my parents got (with the same lumens) they really do help me getting inside at night but they are tricky to trigger. Mounting them was also a little bit challenging. My dad and I had to mount a few of them on scrap wood and then anchor the scrap wood to a surface at an angle in order to get the sensors picking up on the right places and to the change the angle at which the light shined down. Overall I'm glad I got them for safety purposes.
