We live in a senior citizen complex and was out of power for over 16 hours our apartment is all electric. I had gotten this for my to go bag. Along with freeze dried food. I was able to heat up water reconstitute the dry food which by the way was the Delicious. Also got the heat Packs to go with it. We were able to stay in our apartment and not Go out in the very bad snowy weather. We live in Georgia and got 9 1/2 inches of snow A first in a long time. Glad I have these provisions and I recommend it for anyone whether they live in a senior complex or in a regular appart meant if it's all electric it comes in handy When one loses power. Might mention very easy to put together fold very nice And very light. So back in my to go bag went.

I bought this for my disaster preparedness kit. l love that it is sturdy and quite versatile. In a pinch, you could use things other than sterno to cook with this. I used my Trangia alcohol stove as a proof of concept. One could use sticks in it, if one needed. This is the really important part. Coffee. You see, I cannot exist without coffee. Well, actually that is not true. --> I <-- can exist without coffee, but anyone who has to be around me does not want to live through that. So, I must have coffee. In a power outage, when my house is all electric, this is a problem. I have a Coleman propane stove, a propane single burner unit, and a propane grill. However, in an extended outage, one can burn up a good deal of propane, and those stupid little canisters are not cheap. I could use a larger propane tank, with some adaptation, but that is inconvenient, and the propane still is not that cheap. I decided that the most cost effective way to go, since I don't have a fireplace, was to use an alcohol stove. That led to me buying a Trangia stove kit. I LOVE that thing. But there is one problem. Yes. The coffee. The way the Trangia kit is designed, I can't just throw a percolator on it. So I either have to use a backpacking stove, make French Press coffee by boiling water in my JetBoil or other gas-powered arrangement (defeating cheap alcohol burner approach), etc., or I need something that will support my percolator. This is the kind of thing engineers sit around and think about when the power is out for extended periods, in case you wondered.Enter the Folding Stove. I can throw my alcohol burner inside and my percolator on top. Tah dah! Coffee. If a mountain blows up or we have the Big One (eathquake), and I am stuck for days, I can even use sticks when the mineral spirits, Heet, and any other burnable fuels are all gone. I can have coffee, even during Armageddon. I suppose I could even cook food with this, if I had to. ;)Great for throwing in the car for emergency kit on road trips, camping, and just because it is a fun little stove. In fact, I think I am going to buy a second one so that I can leave it in my car. C'mon, have you never watched Survivorman???I considered buying the Sterno brand folding stove, but after reading reviews and looking at this one in stores, the quality of this stove sold me on it. I am very happy with it. It's a great addition to my disaster preparedness kit and is just handy to boot. Glad I bought it.

I purchased this stove for emergency use. While I like the design it is tricky to get put together. Then when folding back up we bent one of the hooks. Easily bent back and still in great usable condition. After a little practice it is easy to use. Folds down flat and easy to store. We put a soup can on the stove to heat water in. It works really well. No need to carry pots. We did put a large stock pot on it and holds it nicely. Could be used to cook larger meals. The difficulty putting it together the first time is the only reason I give this a 4 and not 5 star.

I used the camp fuel and was able to bring 16oz of water to a rolling boil in under 20 minutes. The camp fuel has no toxic fumes and can be used indoors. Worked as advertised.

I just got done using this for the first time I cook a can of raviol With 2 tablets Only took 5 minutes it was boiling it was so hot it burn my mouth... Must have!!

This fits in the palm of your hand and is extremely light. I am happy with my purchase, I expect to boil at least 2 gallons of water with the fuel tablets included. I added this to my bug out bag so that I can make a quick meal without any smoke while I get out of town and then once I run out of fuel tablets I can burn wood or grass or anything to cook my food, and its cheap as hell JUST BUY IT youre not killing yourself

You can't ask or get much more for the price. This is a sturdy all metal coated black camp stove that is enough to handle anything from boiling a small cup of water to frying some fish on a ten inch pan.It can be fueled by various fuels, including a spirit burner / alcohol stove, esbit or other fuel cell tablets, the prepackaged sterno type fuel cans, or just a nice bundle of wood twigs and dry limbs. It has a closing door and ample wind protection but also good vents to feed more fuel into it and keep the fire burning. It weighs next to nothing and folds and stores flat in a about a six by dix inch square. Excellent backpacking stove and great value for the price.

The best, small compact emergency lave-your-life stove out there. It was also a pleasant suprise to find the tablets it can use are also included in the package. Here is how you use this bad boy.....Open a good solid can with one of those can openers that does not leave a sharp edge. You know the ones. Enjoy the food in it, then wash it out real good and save the lid.Pick up a set of drawer knobs, drill the same sized hole trough the center of the lid, and install the drawer knob on the lid.OK, now you have just made a perfect little pot WITH LID to place on the stove, full a bit with water, bring to a boil with the tablets burning underneath. Remove from the heat, add 1 part rice or macaroni to 2 parts water. Cover for about 20 minutes and you have something to eat.My personal favorite survival food is StoveTop stuffing mix. A little will fill you up and it was ALL cooked following Dave's instructions using this neat litte stove. If you do NOT have the bablets, I know other ways that will be just as effective.

I brought this out to just try it for a first time since I usually use propane camp stoves but they take up too much room for my emergency kit. This little gadget boils water easily and comes with extra fuel tablets. You can use more than one tablet at a time to create more heat allowing for some temperature control in cooking. It's very portable and small. And you need to have a small pot or metal cup; better with a lid. The tablets light easily. Matches or flint are not included, so be sure to have a way to ignite the tablets, or the device is useless. Which is why I am not giving it higher rating. Regardless its a good and handy device for hiking, camping and emergency.

Be careful what kind of Sterno you purchase. Sterno "Cooking Fuel" is the only Sterno fuel to get as it burns hot enough to boil water. Other types of Sterno such as "Canned Heat" are pot warmers and burn at only 185 degrees and will never boil water 212 degrees.

My husband gets us caught outside on an adventure in the rain sometimes and this is going to be so handy. And it does not have to be raining to get good use out of this toy. I have a great tarp I fling over my open truck doors and out comes my folding tray and then this fold up stove for hot coffee or tea. It is so sturdy over the one I have that I am getting more for each rig. This one is solid..... my other one holds the sterno at a tilt and as it is locked in my trailer with the tarp on had to order something quick...... so I am glad I decided to give this a try. Every adventure at my age is great if you can have a hot drink or some soup. I will love it.
DRM-TX
Husband really likes this. Can be used with the tablets or with sticks. Folds out at different angles for various size pots. His Stanley cup sits securely even when full.I purchased this stove for my husband to use for quick stops so he wouldn't have to build a full campfire for coffee or soup. At first he was sceptical, but he never goes backpacking without it now.Tablets will leave some residue on your pots and it will take three to get hot water. Sticks will burn hotter, but sometimes the tablets are the best option, so he always takes a few just in case. Packs up small and is light to carry. Very convenient. Good addition to any backpack.

Haven't used it to cook . A good deal to get the stove frame and 24 solid fuel tabs. Warning-The fuel smells horrible, awful upon opening up the box. Don't know what the smell will be like once they are lit, but it is shockingly "dead fishy" with a hint of expected fuel smell. Double ziplock bagged it for the emergency duffel bag. The Stove frame was very sturdy and seems well made. The compact size is really the best feature assuming it all works as described by other reviewers. Great buy- Beware of the smell.
Crystal
I love that it's simple. Just fold up the sides n it's done. A lot of small camping stoves r a lot more complicated. Even my kids can figure out how to do it. I paid about $5 for mine, n the fact that it comes with 24 tablets.....usually just the tablets cost that much or more. Can't go wrong for a simple and cheap stove. Looks exactly as pictured. U can also buy this at Walmart in the camping section for about the same price as what I paid which is where I bought my first one but went back n they were all gone but saw it on here.
KWills
I found this to work well enough. It cooked the food I used to test it without burning. The fuel tablets lasted long enough for the test I did. However, I do recommend buying additional tablets just so you have them if needed. The only downside I've found it the size. While the small size is great for carrying, it's not so great when you want to cook a lot of food. If you're one person and expect to only cook enough for yourself, this will probably be fine. If there are more people in your party, you may want to invest in a few more, or find one that is bigger.

I bought this stove to use as a backup to my primary stove when backpacking. I was not expecting anything spectacular when I ordered it, but it turned out to be a great little stove for the money. If you are looking for a stove for a BOB, something simple for camping, or something to provide hot eats and drinks when you lose power, this is that stove.I performed a series of tests with the stove and will share my results here.I did a primary test on the stove using a standard can of sterno to determine boil times for water. The air temperature was 65 degrees at the time of testing. For the first trial I began with a cold stove and 2 cups of water in a 5 inch mess-kit pot; the water boiled in 17 minutes. For the second trial I began with a cold stove and 3 cups of water in a 7 inch mess kit pot; the water boiled in 20 minutes.I fried two eggs in a 7 inch mess kit pan in roughly 3 minutes, immediately after boiling the water. So tea, oatmeal, and eggs can be made in 23 minutes with a cold stove. It is more efficient to use a pot or pan with a wider base to heat the water becase the heat from the streno transfers to the food more efficiently; heat is not lost as with a small based pot, pan, or cup. The reviews about the product being difficult to use and flimsy are likley derived from user inattention. Pay attention when you put it up and take it down and you will be fine! A great little stove, buy it!

I'm really glad I got one of these. We go camping with a fairly large group of friends once or twice a year, and I always do my cooking over the fire. On one particularly rainy morning, that left us at the mercy of friends with camp stoves. I realized the value in a stove then, but I was just frustrated with the idea of YET ANOTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.So I started researching for my smallest option before the next camping trip and decided this was so affordable that it was worth a try. It's EXACTLY what I needed. While there's no way I'm going to be cooking up a big pot of chili on this thing, I've boiled water for oatmeal, percolated coffee, and fried up sausages in my little aluminum pan. In fact, this thing is perfectly sized for those little backpacker's mess kits. Just remember that this isn't a big flame, so you wouldn't cook large quantities of of food or water over it.Someone commented that it folds up on itself too easily. I've not had that problem. You should probably avoid bumping it much, but normal use has yet to cause it to collapse. It's fairly stable as long as it's on a flat surface. It does, however, fold up quite nicely. Gel fuel cans are also pretty compact, but read the label to find out how many burning hours you should be able to get out of it. Some brands last longer than others.

I bought two of this through . The product was delivered on time and without any defect. Having the stove on hand, i would say, this product met my expectations. It is light weight, well built, and sturdy. I can say that this is a very good value for the price. During a camping/hiking trip, this product fit well in my back pack because it folds flat to eat very little space. And it works fine with my ALOCS alcohol burner in moderate winds. It served it's purpose very well during that camping trip and from now on, this will be a permanent companion in all of my future adventure! I also used it a couple of times using wood for fuel and it still worked fine. I love my folding stove and i would recomend this to all the campers out there. I am very particular when it comes to build quality and value for money. And i can say that this product is one good buy!

Mine came in black, sweet. Any way small folding stove as expected, big enough to set a small pot 1 or 2 quart on. Also back inside flap can be pulled forward if using a sterno fuel. Also big enough to use with a bit of wood (not a raging fire of course but small fire to boil or cook with) could also use it near camp fire and move coals into it. Very pleased with this.

Just as the title says! Great quality, very lightweight, good-sized, and protects against the wind. What more do you need in a portable stove?I bought this puppy off a few days before I went on a backpacking trip with the family. This thing fits very well in my bag, and barely used any room. It's made of a slim metal (not aluminum) and it's very lightweight. It's also very affordable - which was a factor too. It's fairly tall, about 3-4 inches in height, with full metal as the walls - to protect against the wind. Very cool and works well! You honestly don't need anything other than this stove - in regards to cooking. It works perfectly.Enough talking now - going to buy another one! I highly recommend it!

I just received the emergency stove. First thoughts - it was hefty. Steel is not lightweight so be warned. Tried to get the thing to open when I found out the hexamine tablets were preventing it to be flipped open. I had to shift the tablets to one side to open. That's one thing to be mindful of. The tablets and stove are packed tight. There's also a protective grease film on the product so wash your hands later. I figured out that there's a dimple to hold the flaps open or closed which is pretty sturdy locking mechanism. No one mentioned that in the reviews or description. Just don't go overboard with a dutch oven monster. There are 3 positions - open, half-open, and closed. The half-open setting can accomodate probably a 2.6oz can of sterno. If using a soda can alcohol stove, try to stay within 4cm height (1.6in).I would recommend this product.
Marzena Bera
Deadly useful emergency stove! I love it! Arrived promptly and well prepared for the trip, with fuel, ready for immediate use. The fuel smells strongly, I don't know what the fuel's smell might be when used. Any way - this is supposed to be used outside of closed spaces.
EssCube
I was skeptical about this product after reading some of the reviews. But it surpassed my expectations, was larger than I expected, and that was good because I already had pots and a pan that would fit on it nicely. We had a prolonged power outage, and I used it several times. It was sturdy when set on a firm and level surface and showed no signs of collapsing even under the weight of pot full of water. I set it next to my cooktop, under the fan hood (of course couldn't use that because of the power outage), and the only drawback was that fumes emitted from the Sterno wafted through the house, but that had nothing to do with the stove's performance. I would recommend this little stove to anyone. Easy to set up and fold, too. In cases of power outage, I would recommend using the stove outside unless it is the dead of winter, on account of the fumes.

I took this stove to the Philippines, and used it for a month with a tiny "beer can" alcohol stove. It worked great for cooking brown rice, and heating other foods and water. I haven't used the included fuel tablets. The stove is painted black to keep the thin metal from rusting...and it will start to rust after the paint burns off, so a thin film of oil is needed. I gave the stove five stars because it delivered what was promised: a light-weight, cheap, "emergency" stove. I didn't expect more, and am delighted it is still serviceable for my next adventure.
TM
Pretty cool little stove. A little on the heavy side, but I take that as a sign of durability. Very easy to setup and pack flat.
Cat
I bought this awhile back. My Trangia Alcohol stove fits perfectly inside it. The stove itself is sturdy. A hit.
Jeffrey
(See Photos Below). This is a wonderful little stove! I have Sterno's stove also and this one, in my opinion, is by far superior to it. This is a very sturdy stove that folds up very nicely and is definitely compact enough to put in a backpack or use in an emergency kit. It provides a substantial amount of protection from the wind interfering with your cooking heat inside. There is a nice little shelf that supports the canned heat also so it does not move around. I was able to boil water in a stainless steel pitcher using this and a can of Sterno in about 32 minutes. I hope Coghlan continues to make this stove! It was a shame they stopped making their canned heat product.
Leo
I bought both the Sterno stove and this Coghlans folding stove. The Sterno stove is OK but feels flimsy and the metal they use has sharp edges. The Sterno stove will not hold a Trangia alcohol stove without a little "tweaking" because the Sterno fuel cans are a little bigger than the alcohol stoves. The Coghlans stove is heavier, more stable, folds flat and will use a Trangia alcohol stove no problem. Also the Coghlans stove by its design is a better wind screen for the burner.
Andy
Compact packaging, clever design, bought it so I could use the pellets for other things. However, the emergency stove is heavy -- too heavy for happy backpacking.
TangoDeltaDelta
The price for this with the fuel tabs was less than most places that sell just the fuel tabs only. This is a very nice "more than good enough" item. It is a great addition for car winter emergency kits, or could be used for a few weekend backpacking trips. You could pay more, but then it wouldn't be as good of a value.
jmartplus
The " kit " came with 24 hexamine tabs and was a great value as compared to buying them separately. I would recommend the " package " deal and this particular stove comparatively for what it is used for.
Dave Westlake
This is going in my 72 hour emergency back pack. It's small size and light weight, along with the bargain price, made it a great deal. There are others that fold flat but I wanted something that had the ability to burn wood if needed. It's prefect! The 24 included fuel tablets are a bonus.
Stephen G.
I purchased this specifically for hurricane season (think Harvey in 2017), but it will come in handy if we ever have an extended power outage due to cold weather conditions (it never really gets cold in Houston, but I digress). It assembles quickly and is a great complement to canned heat. Highly recommended; I just hope I don't have to use it.
LadyPandi
During the last big storm we had, we lost power for 3 days. During those 3 days I wanted tea, eventually I lit up the grill and put a stovetop pan on it and had very smokey tea!So I decided this would not happen again.I bought some sterno, this little sterno stove, and a Stainless cup.Now no matter what the emergency, I will have a little heat and hot water. They are all excellently made and work wonderfully well.
Craig Richard Gillette
I got this stove for when the power is out, and I want to make coffee or something hot, and use a "sterno" can. I found the sterno cans in the grocery store, but no way to hold a pot over them. I was improvising, but now I have a solid, square metal "stove" to put the pot on, and boil water and cook. Yes, you can't make beef stew with these things, but you can boil water; albeit of course it takes longer. For someone in a small efficiency that needs a small "stove" to get them through 1 or 2 power outages a year, this is perfect. It is also great of course for its intended use, camping and backpacking. It folds up nicely for storage in the backpack, etc., I recommend this product!
Franck Massey
Works very well. Sturdy enough. The fact that it screens the wind is a plus, but you'll need more screening if if the wind is really up. Not a biggie. Easy enough to clean if you use fuel tabs. Place the tab on a piece of foil. Whatever soot you get wipes off with a rag.
Retaking Humanity
Nice thing to have in case of a power outage. I have gotten to use it one tie and it did well on a can of soup and brought water to boil relatively quickly. I tried both alcohol as a fuel and a large A1 candle. It folds up to be super small and is easy to carry in your ruck sack.
Damon Rex
I like the stove and it works well but compared to the folding stove that Sterno makes it is a little lacking. First it is heavier than Sterno's and the first few times you use it the paint starts to burn off near the fire which makes a smell. As well, using the same burner, water boils a little faster on Sterno's which I think is because some of the heat is spread out over the top of the Coghlan folding stove which keeps it from all going to the cooking pot.Don't get me wrong, it is a nice stove and I will continue to use it but since it off gases when you first use it and because it does not perform as well as Sterno's version I could not give it a 5 star but it does work, it is sturdy and I am happy with it.
Alison
Purchased this to use at a campsite where no open fires were allowed and it got the job done. We were able to cook some sausages over the flame and they turned out nicely. We put 4 of the wax things on, I would recommend starting with 2 and seeing how much more flame you need!
Will Robertson
Very sturdy and level, holds even the heaviest skillet or pot without wobbling. Heat or Sterno brand fit inside. Perfect for camping or patio-cooking when the electricity goes out.
NHUNGA DINH
the stove is basically does the job for sure but you have to be super careful because all the edges are VERY SHARP!!! iIt is a little heavy for backpacking I think. I might need to be careful if I have to pack it because the sharp edges might cut my stuffs
K.
This little stove is an inexpensive low tech solution. I'm adding two to my SHTF preps. I tested it just now and yes, it took 30 minutes to heat 3 cups of water. What do you expect from Sterno? Cooking over a fire is a good alternative when you have no other means. I have a large property and can do that. If you are an apartment dweller you can safely use this indoors with some canned heat. It is sturdy and the gauge of the metal is appropriate. If you put it together correctly, with the tabs in the slots, there is no way that it will fall down. I tried to collapse it and couldn't. Here's a tip; if you want your water to boil faster, put a lid on it!
Customer
Bought this stove as a back up for power outages. Combined with some cans of fuel from the dollar store it's perfect for cooking a can of dinner!!!
PK
So happy with our first one that we went ahead & bought this second one. You really do need two of these if two people will be camping together. We use one for our coffee & the second stove for cooking food. They fold down to nearly flat & take up very little room. Be sure to set the stove up the correct way because if not, they could collapse or fall over. I noticed that many people reviewing this item complained that they were not sturdy or that they collapsed while using them. I say,set them up the proper way & you will never have that problem. Ours fell over ONE time only because I set it up the wrong way.My own fault.
Kris Cook
I bought an emergency backpack that came with a different coghlans stove. I didn't feel that stove was sturdy enough to hold my camping pots. At one of the local camping stores I saw this stove and looked it up on youtube. I like how the top is designed and how the sides come together. It is more sturdy than the other one. Because it is a folding stove it still wobbles and sometimes will fall apart if you don't secure it right. I purchased a couple to replace the cheaper stoves in my emergency pack and camping gear. I think I will purchase some of these later as gifts to get family started on emergency prep. It is a little bit heavier than a hiking stove but not my much.
Dale Holt
Ordered 5 of these and upon opening the box the first thing I noticed was the smell from the fuel tablets. Don't get me wrong, the product itself seems to be great, not cheap and flimsy feeling, but the included fuel tablets put off a disagreeable odor. I will have to vac seal them individually so I can eliminate the smell when I put them into their 3 day packs.
Mira
Wonderful backup stove. When used with sterno etc safe for indoor use. I used it to make red beans and rice, it took forever but the meal was satisfying. Great emergency stove. I cooked an egg on a cast iron with it, I had to let the pan heat up for awhile though.
Jade Kauffman
I keep a couple of these, and lots of tablets for burning, on hand all the time because my location could be called ultra rural and when the power goes out, it's out for days at a time. And much as I wish they'd get out there and fix it, repair personnel can't drive on closed roads any more than I can, so I wait. I have a woodstove, but it's too old to get hot enough to boil water. So I started with one of these but with the burn time on the tablets (about 13 minutes) I can't make a cup of tea and an egg and a slice of ham. So this is number two. One pan for the egg and ham, and one pan for boiling water. I'd say I'm in business now. And in case you're not familiar with these, do not use this inside your house. And don't use it on your wooden porch. Put it on the concrete out of the wind and be prepared to cook, right now.

This is great. Couldn't wait to trial this. Arrived with the solid fuel, but I preferred to use leaves to initiate the flames with a home made cotton face pad with parafin dripped on it, then supplied small sticks. The flames were a little higher than I anticipated, too many sticks. Really amazing how this cooked hotdogs and offered great deal of heat with the use of a folding wind shield. This requires little amount of sticks, but a constant tendering as any fire would to cook. Works great with the accordion style wind shield.I will keep the solid fuel for emergency situation. You'll love this.

Was very impressed with this little stove. I was looking for a cooking method safe to use indoors in case of power outage. We already have a bunch of Sterno on hand for chafing dishes we use for large parties, so this seemed perfect! Tested it out camping this weekend. We used it to heat water for instant coffee packets and it worked like a charm. Would be great for heating canned soups, chili, chef boyardee, etc. Have not tried actual cooking yet. Will be buying another for our emergency supplies, especially given the price point!

This stove is great for what it is. The thing is light and folds up nice on itself, light weight and small is what I need it for while hiking. It also cools down pretty quick so you can pack it back in your backpack and get back on the move.

This is small enough for most packs and is simple to use. Only down side is my local ___mart stop carrying the cans of fuel for it just before i received it. Very cool little stove imo.

Haven't use them yet but I keep one in the survival bag, and one in the saddle bag with the horse stuff. You never know

Let me just say this little folding stove has certainly been a step up from my pocket stove. It has a more stable surface as well as a windprotector for the flames. It does seem a bit shaky however if you try to stir your food while cooking. Also ive had the door come right open just from stirring soup lightly so it feels like it will collapse at any given time but hasnt so far.I have since found a much better portable system.

I haven't had to use this little stove yet but got it in case of a power failure so I can heat water or soup.I bought a "Little Buddy" from for heat so I feel like I'm pretty well prepared in case of an ice storm and power outage.Last year I lost power for several days when we had an ice storm and it was a nightmare.I think my folding stove will work fine if I need to use it.The price is great and it's so simple.

I really like the design of this & believe it will be VERY usual in heating meals during power outages. It is a strong little stove. I tested it with a 10 inch cast iron skillet and it it held the weight well

I used this on a camping road trip to Oregon from St. Louis. I was by myself and wasn't planning on cooking gourmet meals, so this little one-burner stove fit the bill. It took less than a minute to set it up and light the sterno. On mornings with temps in the mid 40s it took about 15 minutes to boil water for coffee, so I used the time to pack up sleeping gear. Other foods cooked faster, but since all the heat is in the center, you have to stir often to keep things from sticking. It was equally easy to pack up once the sterno cooled. For what I needed this was perfect.

Purchased for our emergency kit. Got the fuel tablets to go with it. But haven't tried it yet. Most long term food required hot water to quickly reconstitute, hence our purchase. Also for coffee.

We bought this little stove a couple of years ago to use outdoors and during power outages and have been extremely satisfied with it. It's well constructed, very easy to set up and has held up so well over time that we recently ordered a second one to have as a backup. The only issue I had was a small clip that bent but it was my fault as I dropped the stove from the counter. Fixing it was easy; I bent the clip back into position using needle nose pliers and that's it. Overall this is a great stove that can fit anywhere and works as advertised: Highly recommended.

I use this little unit for brewing up instant coffee while on study sites. I also use it as a backpacking stove when I have travel by air (they dont let you transport white gas stoves). Its good enough to heat water for freeze dried food.

It was cool to be able to get the stove. I will have to say that it was bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. But I really like it. I have yet to use the stove, but will soon.

Actually I purchased this for "emergencies" like a solar storm knocking out everything or a zombie apocalypse. Otherwise I will be using it for camping in 2018????????????????

The size of 2 packs of cards when folded. Fuel tabs add a little bit of weight. Make tea, instant oatmeal/soup. Nice for 1 or 2 people. Rainy day backup. This plus a Coleman mess kit= Simple personal trail kitchen.

Easy to put up, take down, clean and store. What more can you ask for? Used for a camping trip when all I wanted was sandwiches and canned beef stew and beans. Great for when you don't want to pack too much. It held a medium sized pot filled with water and boiled within 20 minutes.

This is an excellent, compact stove. Folds up nice and small. The fuel cubes ship inside the stove. You can also use alternate fuel source as the fuel cubes don't last too long. I got some long burn tealight candles to use just in case. But you could also use wood. Great for emergency, but also camping.

Love this small compact highland emergency camp stove

I only use it to keep the water hot for coffee while camping. It works ok. If I need to boil the water this won't work is there is a hint of wind in the area. To keep the coffee hot, it works great and for that purpose, this thing is great. If you want to boil the water get a Etekcity Ultralight Portable Outdoor Backpacking Camping Stoves with Piezo Ignition, those will boil the water right away.

Makes wonderful presents to help you help family and friends prepare for just in case times. Worked great for me, so decided to share

This product was purchased for my hurricane kit. I have not used it yet but it is not flimsy and will do the job. Hope I don't have to use it this hurricane season last time I did not have one and everyone was sold out. This time I'm prepared

I had purchased both the Sterno stove and a Coghlans stove. I had a hard time getting the flap to stay secure on the Sterno stove so I gave that one away and kept the Coglans stove. In fact a couple of friends wanted one so I bought 3 more. They seem to work fine using Sterno fuel. About 12-15 Minutes for a pan of boiling water. A great addition to your emergency kit.

I purchased this Folding Stove to put away for Hurricane Season. This way if I should lose power, I'll still be able to make coffee and food to eat. It's a great light weight item, which folds up for easy storage. Another great feature is that I don't have to purchase propane bec it uses Chafing Fuel/ Sternos, which you can purchase at Costco; 24 count for 14.99.

This is an awesome little burner, very well designed, very sturdy, strong thick metal constructed. Very simple, and folds up neatly. Quality and materials we used to get years ago before the plastic revolution. No negatives. Buy a few of em.

I got this as a backup and used it last weekend while camping when all of our wood got soaked. Super easy to assemble and use
Customer
This is a perfect little stove for the backpacker or camper, it's small and light and fits nicely in even a day pack, it is also great to keep in the car for a winter kit. I recommended this to all my friends.

Saw this when I was buying sterno stove for camping trip. Nice addition to the camp site. Great little stove.

If you are looking for a cheap stove thatdoes what it is supposed to do this is for you. I have brought this on multiple overnight camping trips and have had nothing go wrong. I use esbit, which to boil water faster than sterno, but both will work with this stove. Also, there is a door on one of the sides of the stove for easy lighting. The four sides also block the flame from the wind. When folded this stove is very thin, and has been durable. Conclusion = Extremely cheap, durable, and works everytime. After all, it is just some metal with hinges. You get more than what you pay for.
Sue
Very useful piece of emergency equipment. Each of our family households has one in the emergency supply and this one went to a family friend. It is light weight and easy to use but requires fuel canisters so be sure to get those as well.
mfskarphedin
Bought this for emergencies after a long blackout here in the Northeast US. It came with no setup directions, but a little fiddling around got it set up right, no adjustments to tabs or anything necessary. Seems pretty sturdy, but I still wouldn't put something like a 5 quart pot on it, IMO.If you want to put it back in the box, pay attention to how you unfolded it, haha. That took me a couple minutes, too.
Sunny451
Sturdy, and blocks the wind. Uses sterno, fuel cubes or alcohol burner. Versatile design.
Michael G.
The metal is a little thinner than I expected, but it seems ok... and for the price, considering that it also came with a bunch of solid fuel, it's worth what I paid.

Another item for emergency use.

Nice tiny emergency stove.
Caitlin
Great product at a great price. I bought this to store in my car for winter emergencies. I haven't had to use it yet, but I did set it up. It look me about a minute to figure out how to set it up and, if I could give 4.5 stars I probably would because, while I'm very satisfied with the product there were not instructions. I found it easy enough to figure out though. Seems stable and is so compact. I'll be purchasing at least 1 more.
Adam L.
Very clever, compact and lightweight, you really cannot go wrong with this little guy. Unfolding it to its working state takes less than a minute. The metal is a bit on the thin side, and the door is a little questionable, but other than that I really like this stove.
Lauren
Such a great idea! I'm putting this in my emergency kit to cook if necessary. Easy to store can fuel or tablets to heat up food without power. Folds up small to not take up much room.
Kerry Duryea
Can't wait to try it out for camping, (emergency), or toasting a few marshmallows in the back yard. Folds nearly perfectly flat. Not too heavy. Would like for it to latch a little more securely when fully assembled, a little loose/flappy at the door. Might try to "make it work" more securely myself (shouldn't take much work/at all). Read a review that said bits of wood/traditional fire works fine, so will try that instead of using additional fuel source as it seems more practical in emergency/camping scenario, etc. Glad I got it, thanks!!!
A. J. Nowaczyk
Heated pour over coffee water with this while camping. It works, just took about 40 minutes.
Tracy W.
Not as sturdy as I'd like. It serves it's purpose. For the price it's a great stove.

I like cooking over a campfire for main meals, but bought this for first thing in the morning to make a pot of coffee and boil water for my instant oatmeal. It works great for this. Open to the full open position it holds my 6 cup bialetti stove top espresso maker no problem, and easily holds my tiny mess kit pot. It does lock into both positions, though I have not cooked with it in the tilted position. I'm not sure it would hold a large pot and certainly would concentrate the heat too much in the middle of a larger pan, but if you have a tiny pot and pan set it's more than sufficient. I wouldn't just leave a pot on it though, I think this sort of thing needs to be babysat as the pan is rather close to the flame, and it's an emergency stove, not an everyday stove. I'm not a serious hiker /camper so wanted something cheap, and bonus-fuel is included... No complaints here.

Worked well with my Sterno. A little on the heavy side (for backpacking) but seems pretty solid. Looking forward to using it on the trails.

Perfect little wind break for alcohol or esbit stoves.
Elliott Mendenhall
Should come in handy in an emergency or a camping expedition.
Customer
Good for the intended use - which is for creating both a wind block for and a cooking support for small (e.g. penny) alcohol stoves.
Customer
Didn't try it yet. Simple design, compact. Hinges were a little loose, tapped it with a hammer and hinges tightened right up. Looking forward to using it.This model is a time tested winner. So many YouTube thumbs up vids on it.

Great stove. I've used with sterno, alcohol burners, and fuel tabs. It works well with all of them.

Bought for neighbor's hurricane or emergency kit
Kat Ramos
Love it! Bought it for a trip to a remote island ina plane where I can transport little gas can and this did the trick. For boiling water, make coffe, mack n cheese. Nice for remote areas!!!!! Easy to pack, but a little heavy for backpacking.

I received my emergency camp stove super fast and it is just as pictured and described very happy with this stove and the fast shipping from this seller.

Put it in my bug out bag because I'm really paranoid...love that it comes with fuel tablets. Will probably add one to my camping kit as well!
